Stop using magic green around week 3 of flowering. Once you start seeing some bud formation stop using it. Actually you could use it after that but you would have to make sure not to get it on the buds because you don't want to be smoking it.

Grrr dont you hate when you type a shit load on here then do somthing stupid and loose it all grrrr i hate my self right now grrr oh well move on this is going to be allot shorter

If you know about Foliar Sprays or just Magic Green any help is appricated.

:confused:::Questions:::confused:

When do you stop using Magic Green???

Does every one go by the bottels directions, spray it right before lights out??

Was thinking wet plants in the dark would cause mold.

Alright getting ready to clone, wanted to touch base with every one thats subscribed to this thread and takes clones.

I have done clones before, i get the basics. Just was wondering if you use any of H&G line when cuttings are taken, and if not when do you start introducing the H&G line to your clones???

The grow i have going right now with clones, didnt get H&G nutes at Veg so it has been a battle trying to get the girls to like the water/nutes. Going by the chart just watching how they act to it. I believe i should be up to 1.4 ec moving on to 1.5 ec this coming water change. The girls cant handel more then 1.2 right now, they just start turning yellow if i got any higher. Going to make next water change to 1.4 then back it down through the week if they cant handel it. Just thinking outloud.:bigjoint:

thanks for all the help i am getting from this thread tons of great people and info.

When I take clones I usually put the nutes in from the beginning. I just do 2.5ml per gallon base. Then I add root excel, and algen extract. I have 100% success with no yellowing of the clones.

I have heard that using nutes causes the plants to root more slowly but it's only a day or two even if it is true so I just do it and it works fine.

Hydroponic Distributor said so because we inquired about them. They just said "The Humbolt line is the same thing". It's true they are just re-packaged a bit for the North American market. You can look it up on the Humbolt/H&G site and if you look at the bottles you will notice some of them are exactly the same. Example being the "Roots" product that both comes in that small grey bottle and is VERY expensive.

I'm not knocking the nutrients but they are VERY expensive kind of like Advanced Nutrients with a 100 million different additives, "boosters", ect. Just seems like a marketing scheme to me.:peace:

your logic is very much false

if that was the case, canna and house & garden would be the same....they originally used the same bottles for a while....

but then again....i guess gh3 and buddynutes would be the same cuz they use the same bottles?

hilarious :D

Really appreciate your replies, lots of good info.

Kind of weird that there’s a thread made and there’s only two or three people talking guess no one is subscribed to it or they just are not willing to give a helping hand.

Anyone using H&G cocos? I know H&G nutes will drop the ph, but I am just curious if everyone see the same drop in ph. I go from a ph of close to 7 to 3.6 after adding a and b. Is this normal? I have been using advanced nutrients ph up to get it back up over 5. Is there a H&G ph counter that is available?

i dont pH my water before hand (before adding nutrients) nor do i see a reason to.

the only measurement that i would see would be beneficial would be the EC or the PPM of the source water.... (i keep a standby RO res, so i dont check ppms cuz i know its 000ppm or close to it all day everyday)

Furthermore, different nutrient brands have different affects on pH. House & Garden just so happens to drop the pH to around 3.40-4.45 pH when you mix up the base nutrients.

After you mix up the base nutrients, pH your nute soup, then add aditives & supplements.

Note: Shooting powder can also make pH sky rocket.

Ok?? I use r/o at 0 ppms as well. I don't measure my ph before hand either, just did it to see if my ph was already low before mixing.

I didn't see an answer in there anywhere to my question. I know how and when to mix , I can read the feeding chart and instructions too. My question was, is it normal? and does H&G have a fix? I am just scraching my head from this response? So do you ph-up or not? Do you run with the 3.5 ph or what?
I sent this same question to H&G so when I get a response I will share it. ;-)

yes it is normal, and yes do ph up (after adding nutes but b4 adding additives) ...

H&G recommends 5.8

To answer your other question yes H&G does have ph up but it's not available in the US. Any ph up is going to be pretty much the same thing though.

Thanks Berry! House and Garden is great, I just wanted to make sure it was normal for such a drop in ph. The guy at the hydro store thought it was weird when I was telling him today. I told him that I thought it ws common with H&G but just wanted to get a little back up from some other growers. I appreciate the help.;-)

Thanks MJ! That is weird that they don't make something that balances the ph out though. Maybe soon huh?:-P

I have been using H&G for this grow and am 24 days into flower and everything has been perfect so far. I start the budxl next week.
Here is a couple pics of my current pk grow:leaf:

I'm not just basing it on the bottles bro (many are actually different), Humbolt is a re-packaged line produced originally by House and Garden for the North American market. The reason the H&G has suddenly become available in the US is because the guy that ran the Humbolt division broke off. Still, Humbolt and H&G have many of the same products with the exact same formulas.

also, i highly blv you are confusing humboldt wholesale with humboldt nutrients.

humboldt wholesale is just a wholesaler who is the only wholesaler in the US that imports House & Garden

Just like when Humboldt Wholesale goes to Hydro Shows and Conventions, when they run out of House & Garden, they hand out Mad Farmers' Mother of All Blooms instead of H&G Shooting Powder....

or just like when they are out of Roots Excellator they offer Humboldt Co's Roots.

when i answer questions, i try to give a general answer to help everybody out (killing 2 birds with 1 stone sorta speak).... and more often times than not... i also give other general answers/tips/tidbits that relate to the topic at hand

The answer to your question is where i said that : 'different brand nutrients have different affects on pH'

sooo that is a yes, its normal....because depending on your quality of water and the nutrient brand....its no telling what your pH will be when you mix your final nutrient mixture up.

some nutrients make the pH go sky high, i.e. Canna in my experience has always mixed to 6-7.0 pH when i get done mixing the nutrients....

GH3 is like 5-6.0pH....

there really is no set in stone type of normal deal.....soooo while i could have said this in the first place....it was just more simple to write 'different brand nutrients will have different affects on pH'

and yes of course i use pH up, why wouldnt I? you always always always follow pH. i run my aero pH 5.8.... i also run my coco pH at 5.8 too....however, i do let it get higher without causing a fit or worrying too much like i do with aero and hydro..... but with the stableness of H&G pH buffer in the nutrients, i can say im pretty lazy and the pH maintains it self.... so stable i barely check

my bad again for not breaking it down

Hey Guys, glad to have been guided to this thread by my very helpful friend raiderfan420.

My question is, do u guys think i could add H&G shooting powder to my current nute regimen, www.dutch-glory.com. I am using everything cashcrop except the cobra, it's just too damn expensive.
