yeah... the cooling works fine... sorta...lol.. i just added two more 13w cfl's to my case and now i am sorta battling heat issues and filter issues... all to be worked out for next grow... about the fans, i have two 3.5 inch pc fans in my box... both hooked to seperate 12 volt adapters... so basically they are running full speed 24/7... i dont know how good that is for the fans, but i didnt pay shit for them... the came out of the pc i gutted for my grow box... was for the motherboard and one for the hard drive... i have my intake at the bottom and my exhaust up top since heat rises.. hopefully this has helped... but like i said, im sorta battling temps since adding more lights... i will let you know in the end how good pc fans work with carbon filters... i really do think the filters are my problem regarding temps...

Yes, the soil means takes a few days for it to start working. Foliar feeding works usually within 24 hours. But, either way, it works great. I usually remove the leaves that become chlorotic.

Glad to hear your PC box is working out pretty well, I wanted to use a smallish Rubbermaid tub with four fans and probably three lights.

I watered the plants today. They are all about 4-6" tall and I do plan on beginning the flowering stage this weekend. The plant has alternating nodes, however, no pre-flowers have been found. I am hoping for at least one female so I may clone her.

are you gonna wait till it shows preflowers then through here back into vegging? or are you gonna take clones while flowering? just curious... your rubbermaid box sounds like a good idea for a mother box or veg box... you should go ahead and build one so when you need it, you'll have it...

Update for today...

I trimmed the dying leaves on the plant experiencing the magnesium deficiency. The rest of the plant looks healthy. All plants are looking great today.
Why did you trim them? You should leave them on, the plant will suck all the goodies out of them and then drop them when ready.

yup... that is pretty much what i just did with mine... cowboy logic... does that mean they are nearing the end of flowering?

Its one sign. The only way to know for sure though. You need to look at those trichs. Cloudy with some amber is usually what most look for. More cloudy ones, more of a cerebral buzz. More amber ones, more of a body buzz. Thats why most like 50/50. Makes a nice mixed buzz.....

Today, I will feed the plants a nutrient mix of 1.5 fluid ounce of H2O2 and about a teaspoon of Alaskan Fish Fertilizer 5-1-1 to a gallon of water and distribute evenly.

Next watering I will probably be flushing, then feeding them the magnesium solution I have made.
Why would you use Hydrogen Peroxide in soil? Your killing all the little beneficial bacteria and fungi.
Also flowering or vegging. There are still sugars and nutrients in even damaged leaves. The plant will draw all the goodies out of it and drop it when its finished with it. Every leaf you trim adds stress and takes energy from the plant no matter what phase of growth. But especially during veg.

I use H2O2 to aerate the soil and provide some oxygen to the roots. I do not add enough H2O2 to really matter.

I began flowering today. Some more pictures will come once they begin to show sex and the like. Temperatures are a little high lately, and need to get a new way to keep the plants cool.

i agree with cowboylogic about trimming during vegging... you are minutely removing possible bud sites... i trimmed a lil too much during veg... hence me only having one good bud... btw.. i know my grow is 12/12, but i consider vegging up until it shows sex... it takes about 3 weeks to mature enough for that.. then it starts flowering...imo... so even in 12/12 from seed, there is still vegging for a lil bit...

also... for your cooling issue... you mite want to hook up a 6 inch desktop fan to a box and a dryer hose and replace your current intake fan with this... that will push more cool air in... you could use the original intake fan and make another exhaust portal... the key is proper air circulation and the more fresh air you can pull in, the cooler it will stay...

I actually went out to a few stores (Lowes, Target, Wal-Mart) and fans around here are "seasonal".

I am going to have to order online, I'm guessing. I plan ordering about six fans online in bulk. I'd really like some 120mm fans.

I actually ended buying a bunch of 120mm fans off of eBay that actually are already wired for a power outlet (12v)

They only move 64CFM, but my box is about 10 cubic feet :) So hopefully these are going to work great :)

with enough fans, you can prolly work on some seperate boxes for diffrent things...
I actually ordered six fans. I plan on using two for my current box, and am currently setting up another box strictly for autoflowering strains and smaller plants.

Hope it goes well...! :)

have a box very similar in size, made from 2'' thick pink foam, 6-23w cfl, 1-120mm pc fan and 1-4"in-line fan, homemade carbon filter, and I have a hard time keeping it under 80deg in my 66deg basement
