It's called "science", and has nothing to do with politics and everything to do with your statement that humans aren't animals. We absolutely are.

In science there are facts.

In politics there are opinions.

If your belief that humans aren't animals is a political opinion rather than a scientific opinion then I guess this discussion is over.

I, myself, hold no political opinion as to the classification of humans in the animal kingdom. I think that's better left to science, and I think most (logical, thinking) people would agree.

It's all about hypocrisy. The ONLY real church entity which is against the marriage performing is the Roman Catholic Church.

The ones who are supposed to be celibate. The ones who aren't supposed to be sexually active....either way.

Can you not see the hypocrisy?

It's a farce.

denial of the fact that humans are animals is silly and pretentious.
of course we are.
we eat, we poop, we have instincts.
we are territorial and we have to breathe.
sure, our minds are developed and we have the power to destroy the planet,
a somewhat shameful distinction, a result of our ego.
all animals are connected, both to eachother and to the planet.
denial of the fact the we are animal diminishes and in some cases completely severs this
wonderful bond, leading to all maner of destructive behaviors and poor decisions.
then people start to beleive that the world belongs to us, when it is entirely the other way around.

no, i never said humans AREN'T animals. i said they AREN'T THE SAME. big difference.
This statement demonstrates the difference in your opinion of what defines an "animal", and the actual definition of "animal".

To those who will argue this is "semantics". You're correct. You probably also don't know what the word "semantics" means.

i said we were civilized. wtf, we going into science now? i thought this was all common sense given stuff. like i said in the beginning, arguing this is stupid. there is NO argument.

animals KILL each other. explain why we can't or stop throwing this out there.

denial of the fact that humans are above all other animals is moronic.

What? You said ' I am not an animal'. Are you not human? If you are, wouldn't you also be a type of animal... how does that work?
Forget it, I'm done going in circles on this one.

what you all are failing to see is that i am on the same side, i just have a different "goal" in mind.

i do NOT believe it is right that i HAVE to marry someone to gain rights.

does anyone here get it? it's 1 sentence.

I get it, and I couldn't agree more.

Now, admit that you hate gay people (or are secretly gay yourself), and we'll all be on our merry little ways.
