I mean holy shit no wonder every state not in the south is fucked. Just so you all know everything in the south is fine we can still find jobs and afford our houses. Price of living is still down and our economy is still booming while companys leave? Wounder why that is? Cant seem to figure it out? Oh yeah we are majorty republicans and didnt follow the rest of the country down the welfare state witch is what distoryed them. By all means im not supporting republicans but on the subject of the economy democrates should just but out because the south is republican CONTROLLED and we are doing fine while the rest of the country waits for a welfare check to even have a state government. You lost your states rights when you begged for a bail out you are a federal whore that can no longer declare your self a free state because your state wouldnt exist without free handouts from the government stolen from the southern states in income taxes.

I live in the heart of the "confederacy", and I can tell you you're deluding yourself. The economy is NOT booming, small businesses are still closing their doors at an alarming rate, and the cost of living is NOT down (gas is under $3, that's about all I can think of that's changed in 12 months).

Oh, and we voted blue this year (federally) and have had Democratic governors and majority in the house for several terms now.

Confederates where executed the final battle was a set up by general lee. The war was fought after words by "rebels" witch is why it was called the "rebel flag". These guys where black and white union soldiers where burning churches and hole towns they found supplys in.

The largest producer of corn in the US is Iowa - not in the south.

The largest producer of soybeans (for biodiesel) is Illinois - also not in the south.

Wheat - Kansas (not in the south)

Beef - Texas, Nebraska, California, Kansas, Oklahoma (none in the south)

Crude oil (for gasoline) - Texas (though most of our crude oil comes from foreign sources)

The first heart surgery was performed by a gentleman from Pennsylvania, and only TWO of the nation's top 21 hospitals are in southern states.

Natural gas, again, not so much in the south as in the rest of the states.

I agree. I have lived many years in both the North and the South. Southerners tend to treat each other with more respect. Southerners tend to notice a stranger and say... "hey" (waves). Southerners have more manners in the everyday moments of life, which adds up quickly to make life more enjoyable.

We have really nice PUBLIC hunting land and lots of stocked lakes to fish when your days sucks. I dont think it can be beat really. If I want to go hunt a whitetail ill most likley be able to get one on PUBLIC land. If I go fishing I always catch fish because the lakes are stocked as promised.

I went to visit friends in maine and well yeah after all the shit they where talking the lakes looked like shit and the only place we could catch fish was a POND that THEY stocked.
