Indicated 167 mph on a 2004 yamaha r6 on a not so open highway around 10 at night.

Exactly.

Even a Busa needs lots of help help to hit 220.

The Busa I was riding stocked out @ 206 but I had a Power Commander III and some Yoshi RS-3 exhausts so It might have gone a bit faster

But yeah that GSXR-1000 must have had HELLA upgrades to hit 220... Theyre restricted to 186 now by a governor (My busa didnt have one)

If there is one category I want to come up on Final Jeopardy when the only way I can win is by wagering all my earnings; the only category I want to see is "Sportbikes." I live breathe and sleep them.

Theoretically your busa could hit 206 with a unrestricted / TRE'd busa with stock gearing, with no wind resistance. But it wouldn't, wont, can't in real life. To get a stock busa to do 206 let alone 220 takes LOTS of work. I am not going to argue with you or AlwaysFubar - 200 is a difficult plateau to break through without EXTENSIVE modifications. Indicated speeds are different than actual speeds - theoretical speeds are different than reality.

You sir are correct, I checked my facts and the '99s stock out @ 190mph - I dont know where I got 206 from though... The gagues went to 220 on that busa though, I laughed hard when I saw that.
