ROFLMAO!!!!!

No, that tuxedo will not work for growing weed... but wearing it while you grow weed will definitely increase your snazziness factor.

I'm not an expert my any means, but I do grow with CFLs. I use lower wattage bulbs because I can surround the plant with light. Those high wattage CFLs seem like they'd be a waste, because you can only light ONE part of the plant with them. If you used it for an overhead light you'd still need additional bulbs for side lighting, and if use it as side lighting you'll still need an overhead light, etc.

Higher wattage isn't always better when you're growing with CFLs.

For $60, you can buy 8 packs of 26W bulbs (3 bulbs in a pack) for a total of 624 watts.

i totally understand that right now i am using led and cfl combo as an expiriment in a grow tent it is obvious that hps will have better results but why do you guys troll around in the cfl category to tell us that, we use these alternate light sources because we want to or we have to! Please don't tell me how much better hps is i already know but i like to try different stuff, currently i have a 4x2x6 grow tent, running with 460 watts of cfl and leds want to use this these to fill in where the leds aren't getting thinking of wiring 4 of these together stagered between my ufo's i understand that moving the lights more than a few inches reduces the lumens that get to the plant but this is worth a try i would think ? Any one ever use these before. I would use them as fill in top light

I was comparing the prices vs. quantity of light, not trying to persuade anyone to hang 24 bulbs in their room.

Not that it would be difficult. You don't have to "wire up" anything. A CFL will fit right into any standard fixture.

6 fixtures and 4 4-way splitters. BAM, done. And they'll all plug into one power strip that plugs into one outlet.

If you want to stay with cfls then i wouldnt get that, go get the 42watt cfls from lowes or home depot, you can get 6 for that price which will equally 252 watts, but instead of only having 10k lumens in 1 small spot you have 2600 lumens spread all over, and if you believe in adding lumens it comes out to 15600 lumens. So for price, coverage, convenience, watts, i wouldnt go above 42w for cfl, for those reasons.

yes but i am thinking in terms of lumens and watts of adding this light x 4 units so lumens will be well over 40 K lumens and watts at 1000 k with also 4 ufo 90 w tribands and also 8 15 w led panels for side light. I think its easier for 4 bulbs than so many 42 watters. I am going to constuct my own hood for the bulbs and wire them together to work off one power source. I just am not about having cfls strung around like christmas trees

Are you talking to me? You quoted someone else, so I'm confused.

I'll go ahead and answer, anyway =)

I'm using CFLs and and a T5 (going to add more T5s and possibly a 250W MH/HPS conversion when I've got some extra money). I love the floros, but I want to try some "professional" lights =)

Right now I have 12 26W CFLs (mixed spectrum) on 3 plants. They're all babies, so I'm just vegging them out til I can get some more lights.

My first grow was less than stellar. Stunted my plants with overwatering/overnuting, so she (the one female I got out of 5 plants) ended up unintentionally "lollipopped". Chopped the top bud off yesterday, now I'm going to try and reveg her with my second batch of babies.

Since you said you're going to use 4 of those 250 watters mixed in with other lights, I change my original statement. I think you'll be fine with the setup you're planning to use.

add like just 2 more bulbs to the setup.

But.. im sure it will work just fine for me

Lol you could have gotten a 250 watt HPS for cheaper and it would put out wayyyy more lumens. HID > CFLs all day, everyday. I just got a 400 watt digital HPS with cool tube, 400 watt HPS bulb, yo yo hangers, and a timer shipped to my doorstep for 202 dollars. You gotta look around man and always choose HPS or MH over CFL
