i fux with bubba heavily. it is just a long time to veg that fukker before you can get a decent yield, its more of a novelty strain due to its potency, i have never met a strain i have liked more and i have stated this numerous times. i can smoke bubba for years shit forever and not develop a tollerence to it, and when you cross bubba to sour d man do you ever get the best of both worlds!!!!

i know i was surprised too man, this bubba has more purple than purple kush. Although ive never had pk, i've seen pics and this looks 100X better

That's awesome. Means you grew it right and didn't harvest too early. My latest Bubbas are about to come down. They're at day 58 and going purple too. Can't wait to have some more to smoke. I always smoke my BK faster than my other strains and have to go without it for a couple weeks until after the next harvest. I guess that tells you something.

I think it's different phenotypes. But it still smells kinds of plantish.....what's the best curing method to get that kush smell?

:confused: Plantish? IDK that's never happened to me with this strain. It's never lost its super musty kush smell. Did you dry it fast or something? How long did it take? If it dried out too fast you might have irreversibly lost some of the flavor. You can try sealing it in a glass jar or tupperware with a moist paper towel for an hour or two until it is wet and sticky again. Then remove paper towel and cure as normal.

mared you got that glossy look on your leaves, i have that on my organic plant...not sure why. do you count flower time after 12/12 or after first signs of preflowers? everyone says differently....so im beginning to think harvest time people say is inaccurate. im stickin to the colors of the trichs. i will begin to flush next water which should be today. i have a couple amber trichs...my timing seem right?

Good work, i think you can harvest 1 or 2 buds in the middle....just to try it out. It won't be as kushy but more of a sweet sour taste. I just finished week 7 and going into week 8. You should flush now!

Damn fine job. Those trich shots are sick. I would let it go another week at least though. Start flush if you haven't already but don't chop for another week. When you study the trichomes look only at the round heads. Amber means almost black. They will turn very dark color. I didn't see any in your trich shots. Once these amber trichs appear your plant is actually starting to decrease in THC and increase in other cannabinnoids like CBD and CBN. I want a mostly THC driven trippy high and not the couchlock high from the CBD and CBN so I make sure I have at least a couple amber trichs and then I chop as soon as I see them. But you really should wait until you see a distinct dark amber head somehwhere on the plant. That way you know have have hit the peak potency for sure.

Also I see a few fat white pistils left on your plant. White pistils do not necessarily mean calyx immaturity but FAT white pistils do. All pistils will shrivel up when calyx growth is finished. And with the vast majority of strains, including Bubba Kush, the shriveling of pistils is accompanied by a browning in color. When I harvest this strain there are zero fat and/or white pistils left. I have other strains where pistils will shrivel and remain white but not this one. Look at my first (HUGE) pics in this thread. Not the "current crop" because those aren't finished but the chopped buds in the "past grows". You can see clearly defined swollen calyxes. If you chopped your plants right now it would be mostly hairy bud.

I count flower days from change to 12/12. When preflowers first appear is too subjective of a measure for me. What if you don't see the very first ones or you're not sure whether that little bump really IS a preflower? But I thought this was a dispensary clone anyway. It didn't have preflowers in veg? If you are starting week 7 by your counting, that is only day 43. Your plant looks older than that so I'm assuming that you started counting after 12/12 switch. Don't rely too heavily on the number of flower days stated by me or anyone else. Study your plant and look for the signs. Brown shrivelled pistils and at least one or two dark amber heads on your trichs.

Hey man that post was extremely helpful. Thanks. I got the trich shots by putting the camera right up to the magnifier.

Ive started flush already, the only method ive heard of is to use plain water only, water as normal...are there other methods? I plan to use GH floranectar pineapple sweetner all the way up to harvest, this should be ok right?

I definately want the thc driven high, i think i may have waited too long to start flush. I plan on a two week flush, is one week good enough? I guess i should just flush till it looks ready....what would you say is a decent amount of flush time?

I see what you are saying about the preflowers...i didnt know much when my plants were in veg, didnt know what a preflower was. Looking for signs of ripeness makes more sense.

Tell me a little more about your grow, method, nutrients, lighting.

i just remembered you told me about nutrients and substrate. what about lighting....and what is your feeding regime?

you top your bubbas too eh? i topped one of my veggers last week...didnt top for the scrog grow tho. have you compared a topped plant to a non topped one?

I topped mine while it was about 20days. It has decent vigor! Anyways, i am in the beginning of week 8, and i flushed in week 7. I am now gettin several "yellow dots" all over my lower leaves, i know it's a deficiency because i havn't really fed anything since the flush.
