Makes sense to me!Maybe THAT'S why they're always after his lucky charms!
prolly atleast 6 plants and id say fairly decient yield as i have 1 i cloned in a quart soup container and its may yield an ounce+ just as an experimenthow many 2 gallon hempy buckets can i fit in a homebox xl? under a 600watthps what would my yield be like? the strain will be nebula? im just wondering how much of a yeild u can get out of a 2gallon container? i usually go with 5 gallon in soil.
hey mafia thanks thats what i thought. should i feed them??? or just water them???they say two weeks, but you'll notice when it hits the rez.
I have thought about using the FF Perlite, but the cost deterred me away. I noticed also that the smaller grain is a pain to keep from flowing out the drain hole, if you dont use screens. And i heard the bigger stuff helps with getting more oxygen to the root zone.Oh yeah, and an observation I'd like to make about perlite.
I've used two grades, one kind of fine, typical of what you would use to amend potting soil. The other is Fox Farm Big n. Chunky. The FF costs about 30 percent more and the grain size is quite large, like a kidney bean as opposed to pea-size or smaller for the generic stuff. It has the advantage of being more readily reused as you can disentangle the root matter from it more easily. BUT. If you are growing large plants with serious bud weight, the large stuff tends to allow the root ball to shift and your main stems start tilting off balance, making the whole plant vulnerable to damage or breaking when you are working with them. This is definitely not a problem with the finer grade stuff; it's very supportive. Other than that, I don't see any differences in terms of plant growth rates, health, water consumption or any other issue. I hope this information proves useful to those considering this method.
Hempy on.
I drill multiple small holes close together on my buckets which acts as a built in screen. Nothing comes through but water. My first buckets with large holes I no longer use.I have thought about using the FF Perlite, but the cost deterred me away. Wierd, im having no trouble at all...I have thought about using the FF Perlite, but the cost deterred me away. i usually reuse my perlite, as well. after getting most of the root mass out i just let the perlite and bits of root dry out really well, makes it pretty easy to just sift through to separate the perlite and roots.I drill multiple small holes close together on my buckets which acts as a built in screen. My next harvest will be the first finished in the large stuff. If I am able to reclaim most of it for reuse, I will have offset the greater cost of FF. If I reuse it twice I'm way ahead of the game. I imagine there has to be truth that you get more oxygen in the root zone with the large stuff.
Hehe and do not be too lazy.. Get as much as the rootmass out while the perlite and root is still moist..i usually reuse my perlite, as well. after getting most of the root mass out i just let the perlite and bits of root dry out really well, makes it pretty easy to just sift through to separate the perlite and roots.
haha it's really easier that way? haven't tried that. i'll do that next harvest. i'm glad i'm not the only one who's too cheap to just throw the shit away.Hehe and do not be too lazy.. Get as much as the rootmass out while the perlite and root is still moist..
Once the whole thing dries up there is way too much sifting to do
Waaay easier to just "roll" the rootbulb while its moist than waiting..
(Yes im speaking of bitter experience and no i didn't bother sifting through it all)
If you think about it, it's not much more expensive than quality potting soil, if at all. The chunky stuff is 30 a bag though and hey, 11 of those is an ounce of weed!At $20.00 a bag you have to look at the best way to not lose it - hahahaha.
