kaleo's veggie garden, NEED HELP DIAGNOSING PROBLEM

so since i cant grow marijuana in my house because my cat eats all of my plants, ive started taking care of the vegetable garden my mom neglects for practice. ive cloned a tomato and i have practiced a little lst on them before they out grew their pots.

i have a few strains of cucumbers and tomatoes , zucchini summer squash, chive and a pepper plant. i also have some babies that may have been started too late but what the hell, right?

i have some unknown pest, i think it might be spiders because i clear quite a few webs and killed 2 spiders. my mom thinks its beetles but i havent seen a beetle

if you think it is a baby pepper plan, than you are correct lol

ive noticed almost all young plants look similar to marijuana seedlings, especially tomatoes

if it was marijuana, do you think id put it in the front row of my garden? which faces the road by the way

anyone have an idea whats wrong with these leafs? its not powdery and dosnt wipe or wash off. it looks like its been frosted or glazed. its also spreading to some of my cucumber plants

Could be those japanesse beetles that love squash, whats on your tomatos im not sure. I know i got blight this year but it didnt make holes like that. Some of my tomatoes got holes cause they got too much water so they split but those are different. Maybe those beetles like tomatoes too =(

dose anyone think this flower could be confused with a marijuana bud, if it was dried and trimmed? ive been looking at them for a few weeks and i think it would totally fool a noob



its a cucumber flower, but i think it looks alot like a bud

tomato damage:

ok i start here first as it can lead too leaf damage you have. looks like too me slug/snail damage i have the same exact marks and do have snails in my greenhouse.
now couple of things can help here, the usual chemical slug killer or a sunken cup in garden and some cheap beer. slugs and snails will cause damage and do like cucumbers and tomatos they also attack bell peppers. i have had damage too my peppers toms and cucumber by snail an slug and they leave the same bite marks you shown.

that frosting could be couple things. mites come to mind first and secondly it could be a fungus/mould, untill you find out a diagnosis i would start too remove realy badly dmaged leafs and burn them, DO NOT add too compost heap.

beer and cup sunk into ground will catch slugs and snails BUT will also catch other insects useful too garden but works a treat thos snails n slugs get headmashed while they die. another old gardeners trick is too use copper pipe around the tops of raise beds etc etc, the copper reacts with the snails and slugs and they wont cross over it. i would set a couple beer traps, and walk garden with torch in late evening and in wet weather checking over plants and trying too find the culprit red handed.

Props on your little veg patch. next year before planting try getting hold of some bloodmeal and bone meal dig into your yard too add an extra boost over growing and harvest season

thanks for the reply. im gonna look into what blight and Japanese beetle damage looks like. ive had water bruses on some tomatoes when my mom parked the grill right next to my tomatoes, but recently, this is whats been happening

sigh, you tellin me i need to get beer, but i cant drink one of them? just give it to the slugs.....

just kiddin, i think ill do that

as to removing the infected leafs, im worried that since most of them look like this, ill end up killing the plants

Check out The tobacco worm it's big and green and ate the tops off my tomatoes.

ok drastic action is needed then with this leaf problem.

a basic homemade insecticide can be made, im sure a few of the weed guys will have ideas on making some. next beer traps say two -4. one beer can equaly spilt between these cups and sunk into ground a little above ground levelplace where toms/cucumbers/leaf damge occurs.

meh here you go buddy a home made insecta/fungi treatment:

Homemade Organic Fungicide/Insecticide/Fertilizer

2 oz. of liquid seaweed (kelp)
2 tbsp. baking soda
1 tsp. liquid hand dish washing soap
1 quart (litre) water

Mix the ingredients above and spray on your Roses, or other plants, once a week.

Explanation
Liquid seaweed provides nutrients to keep the plant healthy Baking Soda changes the leaf surface PH to Alkaline. Fungal Molds need an Acidic base to grow
Soap helps the solution stick to the surface and acts as a mild insecticide

yeah a mould of some sort 100% two types of spore can cause this in veg. mildew can also affect mellons and squashes and can change there taste.

the stuff isnt "powdery" at all, but in sure that a soap and crushed garliic solution will help, im gonna find a spray bottle and try this out. dont have any garlic cloves, do you think garlic powder would work?

pop down local veg store and get a bulb or two i broke one of mine down and replanted the 6 cloves in the front yard. But im reraly not sure on garlic powder and dont want too say yes or no.

I had the same problem of the mildew on one
of my zucchini plants....

I sprayed with a neem oil/soap mixture and
when that didn't work, I cut the leave off....

Zucchini does really well where I am up here.

I just had to get some Ortho MAX Lawn and Garden
concentrate.

I had a REALLY bad aphid problem...when I mean bad,
I mean, BAD as in..they killed a whole fucking zucchini plant.

Little bastards. But after I sprayed, they died over nite,
along with all the ants and little beatles. It was awesome

just watching them die and fall off the leaves.

I have no idea what wrong with the tomatoes. The only
problem I've had with mine is blossom end rot, and the

damn birds eating them. Surprisingly, thru out the whole
season I've only found 2 tomato worms and I picked them

off. I just bought the netting to put over my tomatoes.
They're ripening up nicely and none of them are getting

picked at by the birds...

i used a combination of minced garlic a little garlic powder baking soda and a few drops of soap in hot water. stirred it while it cooled and filled a spry bottle with my concoction, after draining the chunks of garlic. i watered, because everything looked dry(heatwave) and sprayed the stuff all over all the leafs of all my plants. it says to use once a week, i might do it evry few days. if i keep having problems im going to get some chemicals....

im going to cut all the dead squash and zucchini leafs off. wonder if theyll survive

They will survive. My husky got to one of my zucchini plants...

it completely regrew in about 9 days. You can't even tell most
of the plant got eaten.

I'm actually glad she did it, because after it re-grew, it started to give
me more zucchinis. And it grew bigger than it already was.
