Plant Problem

Its been almost 1 month, the bottom leaves are turning yellow and it's starting to work it's way up. I think it's time to start adding nutes.. is this a sign or is it something else like possibly PH lockup??

Dude those babies look good but you need to be feeding them! I would start out with 1/4 strength nutes and work your way up over two weeks or so. If you are using same water and soil as you have been then it probably is not a pH problem.

If you haven't been adding any fertilizer ph lockup isn't the most likely answer. Water itself can cause lockup but that is very rare. Try what buddha suggested. Give it a week and see if there is a difference.

The plants are getting worse. I haven't seen any growth in past couple of days, the top leafs are curling under tightly and arnt growing. The bottom leafs are turning yellow and it's working it's way up the plants.

Any other suggestions please i need help here..

Sounds like you are overwatering put some nutes in there and leave it for 4 days and they will be fine.

I haven't watered in like 4 or 5 days ,i'm still getting a moist reading on my meter. What do you mean just put some nutes in there?? You are suppose to mix nutes with water. If i possibly overwatered, why would i add more water??

Anyone else please help it's getting BADDDDDDDD it's the christmas season..

I'm going to buy some grow & bloom nutes.. any recommendations?

my hunch would be, trust your moisture meter.

If it's moist, don't add any more water... could be they've been overwatered... let them dry out properly before you feed them water again. If your soil was high in Nitrogen, then adding nutes is only gonna burn them but it looks as though you may need to add nutes on your next water.

Do you have a ph wand? if you don't, i'd get one as soon as.

it does look like they need feeding from the pic. What a shame they're lookin so sad...

I'd say wait until your moisture wand says to water them, at that point at quarter strength of nutes. What nutes do you have that you would be adding?

I don't have any nutes yet i will buy some ASAP, i think i will go with some kind of grow & bloom formulas...

I betcha the soil is like mud and is drowning the roots. Dig the worst looking plant out and transplant it into a very light mix - lots of perilite. Also, report back on whether that pot was 'mud-like' inside.

I am using 1/3 perlite 1/3 vermiculite & 1/3 potting soil.. is this bad??

Temps did go up a bit when i switched over to the cfl's, but i don't think it's too high.. about 81 topps.. plants are looking a lot worse each day that goes by... what's going on here please help

Well I'd definently say its overwatering....Hows your drainage???...If you dont have or forgot to put holes in the bottom of the pot you need to do that...If those pots are those painter type buckets they dont have holes in them to begin with....after 5 or 6 days your soil should be alot dryer than your suggesting..hince I think its drainage

I made holes in the bottom LoL i didn't forget. I drilled 8 3/8inch holes around the outside and 4 more closer to the center. I also cut some slices out around the outter edge for water drainage. I am going to make some more holes as i think i did not make enough of them, i will put some tape close to the tip of the drill bit about 1/16 or the thickness of the container so i don't drill into th roots .. fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck.. *bangs head on desk*

Will they survive??

dude, im wondering, maybe someone else could give you better advice but is there a chance these plants may have been severely overwatered and the roots are rotting?

I drilled 8 more 3/8inch holes in each container for a total of 20 holes per pot, shouldn't have any more water drainage problems. The soil is quite dry now, i'm getting a 2 reading on my meter.

Should i water them tomorrow morning, or let the soil really dry out for 1 more day?

id leave it tomorrow morning and monitor them throughout the day... they'll tell you whether they need water.

Thanks for the input mate i will hold off on the water. I didn't buy any nutes yet but i got some 20-20-20 in the garage.. should i add a pinch and mix it in the water for their next drink?
