haha. I had to say it. It does look lovely though, much props man 8) is this a medicinal grow?
Yeah. I bought this clone at a dispensary in San Diego. If you read the beginning of this thread you can read about how I abused the crap out of this poor baby in April. Scorched her in a Spring heat wave. Almost killed her actually.

I've since cloned her. I want to get some quality seeds and make babies :hump:

Hell yeah man, producing your own seeds is a sign of a real passionate grower. props bro 8-)

*edit- whenever you produce them on purpose, that is.

I haven't updated in a while.

A lot has happened. If you recall she flowered on me early cause I put her outside in mid/late April when I really should have waited till Mid May or so. The result was lots of little popcorn buds near the stalk. This was fine until the heat kicked in. They started to die off. I also had concern over catapillar and mold managment as the season went on.

Yesterday 7/14 I decided to do what I never do. I gave her a hair cut. She just had way too much swag crowding her.

Let's recap.

June 7

June 17

Remember all this?

It turned into this...this shot was from 7/14. What a fucking mess.

I know...it looks like shit. But the end result looks nice. I feel like I've sort of wiped her ass for her. It's not the strains fault. I really feel she has tons of potential but I mistreated her so back in the beginning.

Here she all cleaned up.

She's not as round as she used to be. She's started to pop out those tops. Here she is after an hour of trimming and nice watering. I'm sure in day or two she'll look and feel a little better. I chopped 2oz of the ugliest popcorn off her. She's got some recover to do.

Remember how she was producing single blade and three blade fan leaves. After some heavy feeding on the nitrogen her new growth is five leaves. With a few months left in the growing season I think all will be ok. Of course in my head is the "what could have been."

Here are some other misc shots from today and yesterday after the hair cut. As you can see, her leaves are down a bit for mid day. She's mad at me for wiping her ass. In a week she shouldn't feel a thing though.

Sorry for the typos but I got to split...time for happy hour kids. Drink up!

From July 15, 2009

Tried to shoosh the guy away and he wouldn't listen. I gave him a day to go away and he still wouldnt budge. I'd push him off a leaf and he'd fly away. I come home from the liqua' sto' and guess what...he's posted up next to my pot ready to jump on the next big tastey leaf he can find.

Here he is...and he's solid too. A good 3" Dude has only one rear leg and he's staring at me like "Fuck you-you fucking fuck" What bitch!

So I grab the obvious tool of grasshopper destruction. TinSnips right? I mean, isn't this like right out of the home and garden hand book?

Bam and Bam...three pieces byatch. Nuff said holmes. Go tell your friends that this cracker means business. :hump:

:peace:

Quick thingy here guys...

Showed some pics of the bush to my boys up in NorCal. I've been bummed on the fan leaves. Some are single blades with a max of three. Color was good and growth was at least solid. My buddy said to make a serious jump in Nitrogen. I bumped the nutes slowly by almost 100%. Here we are three weeks later and all new growth is 5 fan leaves with some showing 6. With a good couple months left in the season I think all is well fellas.

In a week or so I'll post up some new pics after she's calmed down from her ass wiping.

Sorry for the typos. In laws from Brazil are here...if I let them prepare this Tri-Tip it's gonna be XTRA XTRA well done. Time to show them how Americans eat their tri-tip.

First off guys thanks for the reply to the thread. I went outside to take some pics on my black potted plants to respond and look what I found today...

It's coming. I guess I need to start spraying some BT in the later evening before dark.

In regards to the black potted plants. Those are new plants that I got from clone in mid June.

I'm kind of with Fdd here...

My bush is in a 10 gal grey pot and he's fine. Tons of soil plus a lighter colored pot.

My three others that you are referring to with black pots are two White Berrys and one Dutch Passion/White Widow ("Passionate Widow?") cross. EDIT- I was just informed that Dutch Passion is a seed Co. and this is their version of White Widow...it's not a cross. Just one companies version of WW. They are in black pots sitting on concrete. They do get a little warm but the plants are just rocking.

Here they are a day or two after I picked them up from my cloner buddy in SoCal. June 14th.

After they rooted into the soil from their jiffys they went into the black pots and have recieved full sun. Even through this 95+ degree weather. Some days they close their leaves a little but they show no signs of stress.

Here is a shot from 7/13. My "Passionate Widow" was praying HARD to the setting sun. A week ago it was blazing balls hot...still is.

Here they are today 7/19/09. In my opinion they are rocking. The Passionate Widow's new growth is producing 7 bladed fan leafs. I'll take it. This shot has my wifes cute little Brazilian midget hands in them. I have bear claws for hands.

Full Shot

Top Shot

Here is a White Berry. She has two huge shoots on the bottom.

You guys got me paranoid so I stuck my finger in to check the soil temp. To the touch it seemed tollerable. I don't think the pot color matters as much as your medium does. This is my first grow in 15 years. In talking with all my buddies one thing has stayed the same, drainage, drainage, drainage. You don't have to worry as much about over watering or hot soil if your soil doesn't hold water too long. Picture a soil that retains water too long. That soil sits all day and gets hot. If you have a ton of perlite in their the soil dries out faster and I'm able to giver water/feed her at hi noon (like I'm about to) without the worry of over watering.

Lately they get watered almost everyday.

I don't really wait for a totally dry pot. I wait till the soil has a grainy potting soil consistancy. When its 90-95+ I just water her. Fuck it. They are green and only seem to be getting strong. Hot soil on my plants seems to be an easy fix due to my fast draining soil.

I guess that's what I'm doing. It could all be Bullsh*t for all I know.

I did clone my Bush...I want to cross her to get some seeds rolling. So I grabbed a lower cutting that was still flowering. To my surprise I was able to clone her in a rather crude outdoor manner. It took time and didn't root right away but these clones are also in black pots and doing very well.

Here they are in black pots in 90+ degree heat. Looking decent too.

Your plants are killin it but it is proven fact that black pots attract heat and turn your root zone into an oven.

yes your plants are killin it but they could do better with coolr roots.

I CHALLENGE YOU TO STICK A THERMOMETER IN YOUR SOIL.

If it's over 85, your roots are feelin hot.

This is common knowledge in the gardening community: Black pots in summer should not receive direct heat.
