What have I learned so far. The first is that mj is a very resilient plant. I have not taken as good of care my ladies as I ought to. Newb mistakes, light too close, venting (installed but not correctly at first), not enough inside fans, humidity too high, same for temps.
Well I have solved the aforementioned issues. And through this all I have found some basics to be true for ME.
The Four Basics - WALS
- Water
- Air
- Light
- Soil/Medium
I want each of the above to be pure with no impurities.
Water
If the water is 0 ppm then I have lots of room to put known amounts of nutes in. Even with the yearly water report coming out this month the report does not give the EXACT content of MY water. Good reading but ....
RO or filtered water has gotten most of the chlorine and other impurities. I am allergic to chlorine, my eyes get blood red and I itch all over if I go into a pool with chlorine in it. Do I want that for my ladies, NO.
AIR
No contaminents, dust, bugs, pollen, etc. HEPA air filters for tent intake fans. I even have charcol filters for my cooling fan intakes now. At first I had no filters on the cooling fans (lights) and the dust did accumulate on the glass of the reflectors. Which brings us to ...
LIGHTS
How many growers change their bulbs every 2 flips? I do, do you? The lose of lumens is pretty high after 2 months. So what to do with 'em. Supplemental lighting or some other supporting role.
Clean the glass reflectors with every end of grow clean up.
SOIL/MEDIUM
I want to know exactly what is in the nute soup I give my ladies. I use RW mainly but I do have some soil and RW cubes. The soil is Botanicare's Pure Earth and the RW is B'Cuzz's KUBZ.
Those seem to me to be the
BASICS. As long as I have them under control my grow goes smoothly. If any of them are out of whack then the whole system gets funky.
