I hear ya but we rant from the same book, when i hear that chopper it makes my head pulse, bump bump bump.I don't grow indoors - but that kind of story still makes me angry. Regardless if it's happening in the UK or the US or anywhere where liberty is *supposed* to be an inalienable part of life and held in highest regard. Especially within the sanctity of the home.
In the first place, who the hell is signing no-knock search warrants on homes with nothing more than the heat signature coming from a small wood-burning stove? And the law enforcement officers that stated they smelled marijuana in the backyard? They just proved themselves to either be dangerously incompetent, or just proved they have no problem with providing false testimony. Sickening.
When are people going to wake up and realize that the pay-off for a war on drugs is nothing more than organized crime, crowded prisons, ruined lives, and the loss of basic rights? I know I'm preaching to the choir here - but it's almost maddening how everyone's constitutional rights have been subverted up to this point.
Sorry to rant here - just had to let off some steam.

Your ignorance is astounding - the pictures clearly show exactly what everyone but you said.
FLIR can't see thru anything - the only heat shown being emitted from the home is thru the uninsulated glass windows which would happen without any grow activity if the interior of the house was warmer than the outer surface of the walls.
If you look you will see that the hardscape around the home is also much warmer than the surrounding areas. FLIR only shows the difference in temp of the scanned surface.

You are misunderstanding what you are looking at. The police look for patterns, not details.
Let's think about this for a moment.
You have a sizable indoor grow going...................
Scenario 1: You do nothing to vent heat away and use no mylar or foil or anything. Your heat sig gows thru the roof (literally).
Scenario 2: You do everything possible to cover your heat sig. Special venting and mylar even on your dog (poor pooch). Your house gives off a big dead zone of heat.
Neither scenario makes you safe. Neither one. Police look for patterns. They aren't autobots and can adapt. The police simply develop a mylar pattern to follow. The dead zone is now an indication of a grow!! Get it?
Only when the house looks even and normal will you escape a red flag. Either end of the spectrum, too much or too little or too UNEVEN will get you looked at.

I do know they make some sort of "blanket" that the chopper cant see through, but i never looked one up as i dont think its nessecary , o'well good luck

If the cops in your area have nothing better to do, how can they afford helicopters and infrared detection devices which cost thousands of dollars an hour to run? I live in a suburb of the 2nd largest metro area in our state. approximately 500,000 people live around here. We are just getting our FIRST police helicopter. So keep things like this in mind. The cost of running the helicopter to find your grow up is probably 3-5 times the amount of money they'd ever recieve from busting you. But like everyone else says, if you have too much, and you stick out like a sore thumb, you're gonna get messed with. And watch who you tell!! more people get caught that way than helicpoters will ever catch.

Yes, the cops have the time and the money. It is drug money which feeds their budget. Why would they stop? They are getting positive reinforcement economically. More searches means more money.....more equipment.....more technology.

That would be awesome if someone set up their lights to make it look like they were flipping off the helicopter as its heat signature.
Tell the commercial grower you know to do that and then tell us about it.

The only thing that'll always get you arrested is ignorance. If you have inadequate insulation for a room running 2000w then you sorta deserve to get busted.
Grasses/snitches/informants are what the police commonly use to catch most small-mid sized growers. Big growers will get manpower commited to them, as they believe they will get more than one conviction ie: you'll grass on the gangsters they assume you're growing it for. Of course, these situations can be avoided by monitoring how well your heat is being distributed. Insulation and ventilation are important for both growing superior bud and not getting caught.
If you're still worried, there are solutions:
1) Live in a rough area. Smart growers go on for years undetected due to other growers not being so smart. High snitch factor though.
2) Live in a rich suburb. Rich people don't get helicpoters flying over their houses.
3) Move to an area that's in the vicinity of an airport. Helicopters, even police ones, are not allowed to fly around in the flight path zone.

i heard that this whole helicopter thing was unconstitutional. My friend said he researched it. But then again that might just be where i live. Cause I was worried about that for the longest time. But idk. maybe your in the clear either way.

no i mean they`ll bust you for anything and they get there helicopter from toronto pretty sure or they might have their own they brought the chopper out to break up a jam with like 100 ppl who moved to the streets after so im sure they have access to it wen ever
