You could go to the organcs section if you have the motivation and buy what you need from gardening or hardware stores to make your own nutrients/teas and mix your own soil up. Otherwise there's a place like High tech garden supply that ships everything you would need. And you could order some things from them that you couldn't find. Do they have haydro ponic grow shops in Japan?

... Im trying to avoid ordering anything and having it shipped, but if it comes down to it I can build what is needed...I just need to know my options before I move foward...

I don't know exactly what it is your looking for, so I'm basing all my input on what I've read about your hydro set up. i.e.; could one source those materials in Japan, and how difficult would it be?
Lighting materials (and building materials) are readily available at CAINZ, the Japanese version of Home Depot...hurricane lamps, fans, ducting, sterilite type containers, wood, waterproof membrane, PVC, ABS, etc. Reflective films or sprays (for lining a cabinet) can also be found at that sort of home place, or at a number of industrial supply companies.
Nutes can be found at any number of garden supply chains, since every neighborhood has community gardening areas. Depending on what it is you're looking for it may be easy or diffucult to find, but not impossible. Nothing is impossible in Japan, you just have to ask the right people. I could help you in that area if I had a more precise knowledge of what it is you're looking for...keep in mind a brand name won't help...one would more or less need to know what the products main use is, as they probably would have the same thing here but call it something else.

Japan has a ZERO tolerance stance on marijuana, and posession carries a max 5 year prison term.... yes prison, not jail. I know a guy who got caught with 17 grams. Prosecution wanted to give him a 10 month sentence, but he knows some relatively powerful people, so he got a 10 month suspended sentence = 26 days in prison and 3 years probation with the possibilty of deportation, which won't happen with the connections he has.
It's all about who you are or who you know out here. If you're a nobody englih teacher or some other bottom feeding foreigner, who has NO connections, and you think you're gonna moonlight as a dope dealer... you WILL get fucked hard and then seent home.

Oh, and a couple other things...by know means is 26 days in a Japanese prison an easy time. Also, the police can hold you for like 20 days (approximately) without even charging you. And they interrogate during that time. Seriously. If you don't know the right people over here, you DO NOT wanna get caught up.

I know some Japanese people. If you are going to grow...only grow for personal use. Also something to consider...the apartments are stacked VERY tightly against each other and are quite small. Another thing to consider...the Japanese don't really trust foreigners at all.
There are more old people in Japan than young. You might only see hot Japanese girls on tv shows and in magazine articles...but consider that tourist advertising. lolz. Highest % of elderly of any modernized nation. The elderly REALLY do not trust you/do not like you. They will be your neighbors on every side...except for that one chick with the huge arse mole on her cheek.
All the white guys that I knew that went there had a lot of fun for the first month...ALL 100% of them were miserable by month 6. That is the ones that made it to month 6.

Do you think America is racist? We are VERY loving of our black brothers in comparison.
I'm not saying it's a place where you will not have fun. You will. The nightclubs will be as you think...they'll be three times more expensive than you think...but there are tons of girls that love to love them some foreign meat. But especially for a black man...you probably will not be meeting her parents. Asians grade people openly on skin color. Thai people are widely seen as stupid/uneducated because they are dark. It is one reason why Japanese people are seen as the elite of the Asian world.
My wife is Taiwanese. I am white. By all standards in America...she is racist. Her least favorite apparently are Indian people. (as in the Indians that by white people are seen as part of Asia...by Asians are considered part of Europe...yeah it's as simple as racism as to why that is) Obviously I am not racist. I have done up blunts a plenty with people of different races than myself. All sorts of people used to crash at my house. She on the other hand STILL talks about a black man hitting on her a few years back as a very scary experience. I told her it's ALWAYS a compliment. But I'm not an Asian chick so I guess I don't really know how it feels to be one.
I would VERY much love to live in Japan for a short time myself. Please do not get me wrong...you should go. From what my friends have told me...you will love America more than ever before upon returning.

Nickfury... now that all that's out of the way... where were we? Ah yes, back to the topic of the thread. Ya... I try to stay educated when I'm not busy educating others on things in which I've first hand knowledge. Hope I didn't come across as rude or sarcastic, (that goes out to anyone who read my posts) I just hate when people give out bad info based on anything less than fact; it just wastes everyone's time and we're all now that much more stupid for having been subjected to reading it.
I've done some more homework since my first reply to your question, and the definitive answer is, YES, lighting and nutrients are readily available over here. One can get whatever they need for a hydro set up over here. The only thing that's hard to source here are seeds. The problem over here is the grapevine.
By the way, I'm new to this site and I've been lurking and learning before leaping. I picked up a really good book by a guy named Cervantes... great read!
