First Grow - CFL

I bit the bullet and transplanted in larger pots: 10" for BMJ (brown), 8.5" for LMJ (green). I was nervous, but I think it went well.

I thoroughly watered with about 1.5L each with 75% strength nutes. I also continued my LST with another hook for each stem.

what type nutes are you using? chem/organic
I'm using organic nutes. I did quite a bit of research and settled on Pura Vida Grow and Bloom (new product) by Technoflora. It was another thing trying to find a retail outlet.

The advantage of Pura Vida is that it doesn't stink. I heard other organics can really smell it up. I'm using the aggresive grow formula, which is a combination of the grow and bloom solutions. Seems to be working nicely so far.

My plant isn't growing tall (that's good, I guess), so when I LST many of the leaves touch the soil. Is this a problem, or should I wait for more vertical growth first? I was worried that the stem would be hard to bend if I waited too long. Notice my drunken move in picture 2 of anchoring the hook into one of the leaves.

When will I be able to sex these plants?

I also pulled a bonehead move, knocking over one of my seedlings trying to make more space.

I drilled some holes in the rims of the pots for tie down points for LST (using old computer wire). I tied down both ladies today.

BMJ is doing great.

LMJ (pic 2) is burning a bit at the tips, and some leaves have brown spots.

One of my seedlings is taking off. Trying to figure out when to transplant. Any ideas?

if the pot the seedlings are in are about 16 oz's or the size of a beerpong cup. i'd say 3 days on the small one and do the other one now or in the next 36 hours for sure

Thanks. The babies are in kiddie cups, so I'd say about 8 oz. I'll transplant tomorrow.

I don't have enough space in my box for 2 more 10" planters, so I may need to do with 6" for now. If BMJ or LMJ turns out to be male, I'll have another planter to use. The seedlings were insurance against BMJ being a male, so fingers crossed. I think I saw two hairs on BMJ, so I'm hopeful.:hump:

Pics to come....

i would transplant to a square/rectangle windowsill planter thing (thats the only way i could think of to describe it) and keep the roots separated by putting something wood or metal or plastic in the soil which must completely cut the plants/roots off from each other. ya dont need as much soil as people think.....check out some of fdd2blk's grows/plants, its crazy how small the pots are, ive also seen a pic with a bunch of 1-2 feet tall flowering clones in the bigger sized dixie cups 16 oz? 20?

I transplanted the big seedling tonight into a 6" pot.

I pruned off a couple of damaged leaves from both plants. I believe that BMJ is a female (I see a couple little white hairs at the top internode). Can someone please confirm (pic 4)? Apologize for the quality, but it's surprisingly hard to zoom in.

I used a soil test kit from CIL last night and didn't get very readable results (maybe because they were off scale), but looks like all my nutes (NPK) are deficient. The pH was from 6.5 to 7.0. I have used 3 nute doses so far in the grow, ranging from 33% to 75% strength. The plants look OK, and I've read that the plants will tell you when they need nutes.

Today, I went to the full dose on the big plants (one confirmed female). I used about quarter strength on the 2 week old plants.

BMJ (female) looks like it's taking nicely to LST. The foliage is very thick and bushy (can't see the stem anymore), and I've got about 7 potential bud sites (I think). LST is definitely the way to go with limited grow height space!

Still waiting on sexing LMJ. I don't see hairs or balls, but I do see two thin 'leaves' off the internodes (pic 6 - not good quality). Shouldn't I be able to sex already?

I also see some problems on LMJ (pic 5). Three leaves have brown spots, and two are discoloring to light green. Any ideas on the issues, or if I should be worried considering the other leaves look healthy?

First, I don't see any hairs or balls on LMJ. It's been about 9 days since I was able to see hairs on BMJ. LMJ has been more stunted since the start, so maybe this is normal (pic 6). Because I'm taking vacation in mid August, I need to start the 56 day flowering cycle soon. I read that you should wait until pre-flowers before flowering.

LMJ has a bunch of browning on leaves now (pic 5). Any ideas???? I've treated both plant identically, and BMJ is not showing any signs of problems.
