My Very First Grow

I'm really pleased now. After failing with the first 2 and them both dying (I think from overwatering), this is the first of 2 new seedlings, this picture taken only 7 days after they were placed between tissue for germination... hope you like, I think I'm getting the hang of it now!
For my tragically cold location, they are growing a noticeable amount every day and are not directly below lights yet but offset to one side, this seems to be making the stem stronger and the leaves are naturally growing outwards toward light. Am rotating them daily.
Can't tell you how chuffed I am that this one is this healthy so soon after germination! I planted a new germinated seed tonight so they'll be friends, have managed to control the acidity of the soil to about 6.4 so hopefully will help it turn female...

Hi ppl - 2 more pics of my 3rd attempt which is going real good now for a seedling... as you can see, the few brown spots on the first main leaves are from where i sprayed them at the start... not a good idea all you newbies, not a good idea at all... seems it intensifies the light and they got a bit burnt.
Anyway, not too worried as they are growing well... these shots are 9 days after i started germination. So since potting it's about a weeks growth, not bad for a cold climate and only a 200W Envirolite...
Feedback welcome!
p.s. compare to previous posted pic to see growth difference in 2 days... this is the same plant, so I'm well chuffed considering my first two attempts crashed and burned.....

ah man you still got a ways to go before telling the sex of the plant. the only true way to tell the difference is the pollen sacs that the males will have and the white pistols that the females will have. it took well over a month for me to tell after germination. good luck
hi guys, well this is my baby girl (hopefully) 16 days after germination... she's looking pretty healthy i think so not bad for a newbie in a cold climate growing in a garage...
i did notice (which you can see in the pics) some slight brown tips oon one of the leaves, though this is not occurring in the other new leaves that are growing, any ideas what it could be?
i've only just started adding a quarter measure of nutes but not to any great degree...

Thanks mate, although i may wait till there a bit bigger... will more height mean bigger buds? I know that these shiva plants grow small and bushy don't they so I'm wondering whether I should grow them taller than the 6 inches you mentioned... i mean i was gonna start flowering when they were twice that height...

Shiva he means to just put them under 12/12 for a few days, until they start showing sex. Then weed out the males and and change back to veg mode at 18 hours of light per day. More light = More bud. Oh BTW i am quite green at growing MJ so i could be wrong i am currently trying to grow my first crop

Yea shiva you most cetianly can do that well thats what i read here anyway, they should be okay.
Well here she is... have backed off on nutes for a while as i think she suffered some burns on her lower leaves on first adding nutes (this even at only quarter strength) I guess the soil had a lot of nutes already and i know that vermiculite holds nutrients quite well.
I am learning a lot on this first grow but I will say again, although leaves are dropping slightly, this is a major step forward from the previous two seedlings that died.
Also, as you can see... a new seedling on the way and although stretching a little, I've now moved her closer to the light so he shouldn't need to stretch so far.
Overall, I think I'm doing ok... she is starting to smell great... can't wait till flowering time!

Shiva because your lights are on 24/7 you should be able to cut back the light to 14 on /10 off. That's if you want the extra bit of heat you mentioned it's a cool climate. Then you can determine the sex, weed out the males then back to 24/7 cycle for more growing.

however doing that will slow your operation down.. as you have to wait for sex then go back to veg more it will cut you 2 to 3 maybe even 4 weeks back. i have my 4 big ladies flowering now. no sex yet, i took a clone from each. when my big lades show sex i will destory them and their sons, and then, i will have females flowering and females vegging. then i can clone the females and put them to flower when ready.
