the file you speak of is called an EXIF file. if you click on a picture that you took yourself and uploaded to your computer you can right click it (CMD click i think for a mac) and youll see "properties" it will tell you when the picture was taken.

here is what an EXIF file actually records.

  • Date and time information. Digital cameras will record the current date and time and save this in the metadata.
  • Camera settings. This includes static information such as the camera model and make, and information that varies with each image such as orientation, aperture, shutter speed, focal length, metering mode, and ISO speed information.
  • A thumbnail for previewing the picture on the camera's LCD screen, in file managers, or in photo manipulation software.
  • Descriptions and copyright information.
also...... your LOCATION cant be detected unless you buy an attachment for your camera that is a GPS that allows it to record that information into your EXIF files. Therefore, you cant just post a picture and expect it to be tracked.

Also... open up a picture that youve saved from the internet. do the properties thing. you will see the date and time downloaded, taken ect are the date and time that you just saved it to your computer.

the fucking cops would have a better time tracking your IP address than your pictures if they really gave a shit.

now... if I've made it clear enough that you cant just do some magic trick and know everything about a photo taken I'd like all you stoners to stop being paranoid and move on.

lol the place it said i live near is like over 200 miles away lol
but on a serious note i never post pics ,i kind of think of it like this , i wouldnt post pics of myself robbing a bank or stealing from a shop or any other illegal activity so why would i post pics of my grow op , i dunno maybe im paranoid , no actualy YES iam paranoid (btw i dont rob banks or steal from shops lol and im not currently growing ,)

good thing Im allowed to grow legally. at least by state standards, so I guess unless the DEA wants to take down lil' ol me I'd say Im pretty fucking safe.
