i loved that shit. Pinapple Express made my day yesterday. Somebody was nice enough to post up a link and i saw the whole movie on youtube (think i only missed a minute or two when they had a fight and the dealer guy told Rogan to "supersize it, bitch"). funny as fuk in the beginning and some funny shit that came about in believable ways. it was a stoner flick, but nothing totally ridiculous happened and the storyline made sense. 2 thumbs up. thanks for this thread. i would have never seen that shit otherwise.

Just bought The Big Lebowski and Total Recall on dvd, forgot how great they both were.

As far as Pineapple Express, comedy gold man. It had everything a good movie should have, weed, The Jeffersons, and action. I didn't see the wackness, I didn't even know it was on dvd.

No shit that's the worst patois accent ever, I'm white, have only been to Jamaica once, and could do better.

Those Jamaican flicks helped out a lot with the patois... If you haven't been to Jamaica, and think they just speak english, you're way off... Those movies;

Shottas
Rockers
Countryman
the Harder they Come

Yeah, you'd probably like Ghostdog: the Way of the Samauri score by Wu Tang... Awesome movie.

There's been a few movies I haven't seen named, let's get some more...

MrHowardMarks, you ever see that Peter tosh documetary called Stepping Razor Red X? I own it its pretty cool, just a doc about his life.. He was a strange dude who cut his eye as a kid and believed he could see into the future because of this eye injury... weird stuff... but pretty cool. I love music docs and concert dvds.

"Like a steeping razor, don't cross my line, I'm dangerous, soooo dangerous."

Nope haven't seen that documentary...

"Rockers" has a ton of roots reggae stars of the time period.

"Countryman" has an all Bob Marley soundtrack.

"The Harder they Come" stars Jimmy Cliff

"Shottas" has Ziggy Marley as the main character.

You have to realize Jamaica is a 3rd world country, the don't have the education we have, and religious beliefs are really, really strong... To the point of killing homosexuals and not wearing condoms even though AIDS is rampant because of their religion... And procreation.

And BTW if you haven't seen the Wackness, I definately recommend it, it's not the typical stoner comedy, but it does have more weed in it than Pineapple Express...

ive seen Ghost Dog...pretty good movie

couple really good ones i just watched yesterday were Surf Wise...the story of Doc Paskowitz & family traveling the country and living his ideals on health...really good...must see IMO

and Shotgun Stories...slow moving but ever tension building story of revenge between sets of brothers from the same father...must see IMO

Thanks man I'll check those two out, i saw Surf Wise sitting on the shelf and skipped over it... To be honest I don't really like the surfer mentality, looking away from the terrible path of civilization and following their own, I'm more for revolution and education...

--And I know where I can go get a copy of Stepping Razor right now, there's a badass record store that has absolutely everything you'd ever want as far as music goes. I'm positive I've seen it there, it's where I got Countryman

Check out Bill Hicks on youtube, he's the funniest man ever, well, one of them that faught on our side.

Oh, another good movie I saw recently was The Proposition. I saw it because i am a Nick Cave fan and he did the screenplay and soundtrack. Its the story of outlaw brothers in australia and the proposition one lawman makes to one of the brothers. Pretty good imo

Pineapple Express is one of my all time favorite movies, the directing, comedy and general weed relation is fecking hilarious.

I thought the wackness sucked. Just seemed really fake to me. Stereotypical weird to the point of creepy kid with plenty of melodrama sells pounds of weed out of shitty looking ice cream stand that apparently sits all night chained to a tree on a city block? Couldn't take it seriously at all...not to mention I think I've seen that kid on the disney channel or some shit.

Guess you guys are too young to get the real moral of the movie... It's a lot deeper and psycological than a drug movie, it's more about living your life and experiencing everything as it is... To enjoy everything good or bad, because without the "wackness" how can you enjoy the "dopeness"

It's like without hate there's no love, no pain leads to no pleasure...

And I don't see where the anti drug relation comes from, I think it's a fairly accurate depiction of the era, I should know, a shit-ton of that movie mirrors my own life.

Seeing as you watch the Disney channel, I guess you wouldn't understand... :p

I just saw the Wackness myself and thought it was ok. Some funny parts but I too thought the kid to be a bit too creepy and kept thinking to myself I just want to smack this kid.. Like, dude, you are 18 you gotta hot chick in front of you, why are you analyzing the situation? Kiss her, do something.. what a puss..... guess im someone who sees mostly the dopeness....Kinglsy was good as usual...
