Sick plant!!!

THIS IS ALSO MY FIRST GROW, SO ANY ADVICE THAT WILL HELP THE OUTCOME WILL BE GREATLY APPRECIATED : )

Does anyone know what could be wrong?

I cant tend to this plant everyday so the lightings a little screwed up, its growing really slow and showing signs of sickness or disease.

150w cfl in a semi-cold basement.

Do i need a light timer for it to grow?

Pistils are also very crystally but won't bud.

Also, how do i know what stage its in? Ive had it for a long while, but its cycles are all messed up so it didn't grow right. I want to know the stage so i know what to set the timer for once i get it.

And how would i go about changing the soil, or should i just add things to the soil?

Any ideas on heating the aquarium/plant area would be very helpful ( not lighting because im already using CFL's) which don't give much heat.

HELP!

it looks nitrogen starved. If you don't have access to a hydro shop near you you can use MG. I grew with it last year, but you have to check your ph before you give it to your plant or it will lock it out...

How old is it? Make sure you nutrient level is appropriate for its age. And how cold is the basement? When it starts to dip below 65 degrees it can make it difficult to absorb nitrogen, which is what the yellowing is a sign of. I would say heat up the area a little if its cold.

Also yes a light timer is very important, it needs routine. 5-10 bucks, worth the investment. At vegetative stage you should be on 24 hours a day. If your trying to bud it switch to 12 on and 12 off and make it consistent. And when its off it has to be absolutely dark. Is your basement light proof? A little night light across the room would even disrupt its night cycle. You shouldn't be able to see your hand inches from your face.

It's like 6 months old haha. i started it around july when i just threw a bunch of seeds in the ground basically as a joke, but when one sprouted i kinda started to take care of it, when it started actually growing well it got cold out, so i brought it indoors and ghetto-rigged a place for the plant. not sure how cold the basement is, but ill try heating it up. What nutrients or fertilizers could i add to help it?

and it's definatly dark enough when its off, nothing else in the basement but that. and ill get a light-timer, hopefully that helps it out. how would i help heat up what the plant is in? its an old aquarium laced up with aluminum foil.

And its had pistils for a long time, a few months i suppose, well since it was outside. I thought it would be taller, but it doesnt seem to grow up, the pistils just seem to mature, and some of the tiny leaves near the stems are crystalized.

better off dropping that tinfoil as I can cause pretty sever hot spots and just paint the outside of the aquarium with a flat white paint-100 times better. considering your grow, you ca use miracle grow or scotts fertilzer but please 1/4 to 1/2 reccomended dosage at best. and use distilled water unless you know the ph of your tap. very impt during flowering. or throw some fine dolomite lime on the top layer of soil and this should take care of your ph

you should give it some super thrive and some fish emulsion for nitrogen and it will be ok.
and if i were you id buy two more of those cfl's then put it back into veg for about a month.

Someone else field that question about the nutrients. I grow in hydro so when you switch to that i'll let you know. But if no one can make a good recommendation just visit a garden store and ask for help. The nutrients in the soils or plant food are listed as follows.

# - # - #, for example, 12 -12 -12 or 20 - 12 - 12, The first one is the nitrogen. The higher the better. I think 20 is the highest or so. And i think you would be better off with just plant food rather than transferring to new soil.

When i did soil back in the day i used this fish fertilizer that boasted that it couldn't burn your plants. Might be worth looking into. I think it was called Alasken something. Pretty sure it was Alasken.

i was using tap. ill just start using distilled. i heard miracle grow was bad for marijuana plants.

It can be used when you have nothing else. Look at it's rating and make sure your giving it the right kind for the stage your in. i used mg rose food when I flowered. is it on 12/12 or are the pistols your seeing the preflowers?
