yea
so i was thinking about making an led array. but then i read about how plants want all the spectrum even tho they prefer a few close areas. so i was thinking of putting BLUE poster board around my grow box instead of the white or whatever your using, to reflect a more blue light.

would you think its better?
idk i will try.

Sounds like a good idea, though since blue is a darker color it is going to absorb more than it will reflect.

Maybe get a white poster board and put blue lines on it maybe an 1/2 inch thick?
Dunno, but it sounds like it may work.

you would lose a lot of lumens. the poster board would absorb a lot of the total lumens and reflect back those only in the blue specrum so if a light has 1000 lumens you only end up with those in the blue spectrum which is only part of that 1000 lumens

but thats just teh refelection, i mean right now i have nothing. and can only imigain that a blue reflected specture is awsome.

what kingkush. i didn't ask to see your setup.
is it just me or does it look like KK got the wrong kind of plants in his setup? I like the idea of puttin up the bblue pster board, but like someone was sayin, u'd probobly lose a lot of lumens. i wonder if it'd work if they had some blue mylar, or maybe even red?

welll at most stores that have foood have poster boards thats like 1/4 inch thick it will work but even better after you do that then go to wallyworld and buy some solar blanket stuff sold in the outdoors department. just ask and they will show you:joint:N:peace:

i think you all should get proper reflective matirial and the correct lighting, blue board will absorbe blue light. i think its a bad idea. good luck with it

What r u talkin about? Changing light spectrums??? Looks like u got urself a hps and a mh goin at once? (sweet by the way) But i thought we were talkin about the effectiveness, or lack-of, using blue materials to reflect more BLUE light, not calling people assholes and sayin bow down. I mean wth? Aint noone here bowin down to shit.

Dude you have some good light just reflect... It’s not just the blue color that makes the plant grow different, that is a process we call photosynthesis man! Just because you put something of another color in the room doesn’t mean that it will cause the color of light be as such

thanks. but yea lets get back to the topic.

you see blue, because its reflecting only blue. whati wanna do is get mirrors and that blue painters tape and do strips. i think that would give a ~50% either way helping or hurting,

it will reflect blue light. but its only going to reflect the blue light thats already put out by the light. putting blue poster board up isnt going to magically make more blue light. all it will do is absorb the other colors of the spectrum your plants want. stick to white. promise you Itll be better....

oh and mirrors are a really bad idea. they actually absorb a lot of light. ever see a hallway with two mirrors on either side. or put two mirrors up to each other? and look down the tunnel that is created? it just keeps getting darker and darker...
