Examples of GOP Leadership

I watched the election campaign for the felon, and I don't remember him campaigning to switch alliance to Russia. I do remember him saying on day one, he'd be working to lower prices for Americans.

So, are Americans and Canadians now on different sides? I'm confused, as I think the rest of the world are. I mean the sexual abusers Whitehouse press secretary just repeated the "Canada becoming 51st state" bs today, so hmmm.

U.S. dairy farmer says Trump's mass deportation plan would put him out of business
Here in NW Florida the biggie will be tomatoes. In the 70's when I was a teenager, blacks and poor whites worked the tomato fields, their numbers about evenly divided. For the longest time there has been no whites and very few blacks and 99% Hispanic workers. Not sure what the farmers are going to do.

Canada and the EU are going to be forced into teaming up. There are already plans in place for new LNG terminals to be built on the Canadian east coast. All the EU's LNG contracts with America are short term, and they have expressed the desired to buy their gas from Canada in the long term. The same thing is happening with electric cars, rare earth minerals and several other things.

And they will form a new defense pact. In the long run America is going to be weaker and poorer.

The house and the senate are not on the same page. Not too much time before the deadline. Some in the house believe real cuts can be made to offset the tax cuts for the rich. Most are cool with just pretend cuts, but they can only lose two or three votes. I would give the odds of a shutdown at 50/50 right now.

When Mitch McConnell can't take this shit any more you know how bad it is...
I'm sorry, but Mitch looks semi embalmed, old age sucks but I can't forgive good ol Mitch for the Garland S.Court screw job nor failing to impeach after Jan 6. saying "the courts" will render justice". Seems their is a odd connection there, since if Merrick were busy in his prior "appointment" it's possible a less cautious AG w/ some sharper teeth possibly would've got the ball rolling earlier in terms of Jan 6 investigations by the J. Dept and the "sym PATHETIC" SC would have been staffed more equally w/ a duo instead of a trio of Trumpian disciples at the same time. Thanks, Mitch

Texas measles outbreak grows to 90 cases, worst level in 30 years
Epicenter of latest outbreak had one of state’s highest immunization exemption rates for 2023-24 school year
We can expect MORE as TX is under the "herd immunity" threshold for Measles, there is nothing worse than seeing eradicated diseases make comebacks due to paranoia driven by the anti-vax movement. All the covid BS,sure there were some mistakes in it initially being a wonder weapon that PREVENTED infection, but it still primed the immune system for recognition and defense resulting in reduced illness. All I needed to see were front line, highly educated doctors/nurses eagerly getting the shots to dispel the conspiracy driven anti-vax paranoia.

I wonder how they plan to get gas to terminals on the east coast when here in the west we've been trying to get a gas line out there for ages but have been blocked in many places especially Quebec. Unlike an oil line if you have a gas leak it just evaporates so the big problem has to be politics.

Even if it got approved fast it will still take a decade to set it all up. They could have be using natural gas from here on the east coast instead of burning diesel to heat their homes further cutting Canada's GHG emissions.

I heard on NPR that someone who had it went to Austin and attended a couple of three events with several thousand folks each. They didn't say. but I assume basketball games or concerts. Hope folks had their shots when they were kids. This could blow up big time.

Not sure how they are going to streamline the regulatory stuff. But with that kind of cash on the line, something will be worked out.

I have a natural gas pipeline near me. I've always thought gas was more dangerous to life, but not the environment. Down here in the States we have houses explode every few days from gas leaks. With doorbell cameras everywhere, there is almost always video, and they are favorites of the nightly news programs.

I've seen a few of those explosions. Seems pretty rare up here. I have a big gas plant about half a mile east of me I can see clearly when standing in my carport. They handle sour gas too but have never had a serious incident in the 21 years since I bought the place. Big flare stack always burning with a 5ft flame and once in a while they flare off lots of gas and light the place up real good.

Man WTF is wrong w/ our country? Elon is masquerading w/a chainsaw,as he and Trump and the R conspirators blow smoke up asses about CUTTING our debt by purging Fed govt. employees and depts. This is a bait and switch tactic for ignorant masses and accounts for a very small portion of our Fed. budget. It won't shave 1% off the 36 T national debt and is a DISTRACTION to the ludicrous tax cut coming for the wealthy and corps (why do you think Zuckerberg and co. took a seat at the inauguration. I know there is waste in govt. but DOGE is subterfuge. I'm pushing 60 but I feel for gen Y and millennials who are going to get screwed if we don't balance the budget, these people are getting reamed on rents and can only dream of owning homes. WE NEED TAX REFORM, I'm not wealthy but I'll pay more tax to get the fiscal house in order. WHY hasn't ANY Pres. (either party) called this out on a briefing of NATIONAL URGENCY and come clean over the deficit and how we HAVE to come to grips w/it and fix it. Hell I'm for outside the box fixes if the greed of some wealthy lobbies against more taxes on them. FAIR TAX CODE REFORM,with pain spread across the board. How about a 1-1.5% FEDERAL SALES TAX (how much would that really hurt? How about getting rid of pennies and the round off goes to the FEDERAL DEFICIT, Shit out of 150 M Working Americans $100 less of a Fed. Tax return could half the FKN deficit. It's just ridiculous that a wealthy nation like ours should even be here, and saddling future gens. w/a big hole to dig out of and a living standard that pales in comparison to that lived by boomers isn't a legacy I want to leave.

Elizabeth Warren and Bernie Sanders have been saying the same thing for years. I guess it doesn't get as much attention as the tech bro oligarchy and the lying pos behind the resolute desk. :(
