The greenhead flies are back, no more going in the salt marshes for rest of summer.
It was a nice walk down, but they followed me back to the car, like bloodhounds once they see you.
Land and take a chunk out of you, never leave you once they find you.

Sounds like the deerfly. A touch large than a housefly with doe like markings on their wings.

Their bite really stings too.

But once these little shits get a taste of you, the only way to stop them from biting you is to flatten them - as they are biting you.

Today’s stop. Been here many times and still amazed how enormous it is. Sounds like it’s been biblical level rain back home so happy to be missing that, but missing the boyos.

MizChiz texted to let me know our youngest has indeed fractured his ankle and is now in a cast for 6 weeks :sad:
