Yea it's one hell of a supply chain disaster, and leaves those people very cut off with only the long way out and around.
They were trying to recover the bodies of the people in the cars, six people still missing at 5 minutes ago. Then they have to get a crane to move the damaged portions out of the way. Is the paved section of the span in the way of ships? How do you cut it up into cane happy pieces? I think it might take a while. Not like they have a plan ready to remove the bridge.Enough that the entire port is closed off, and 800 more incoming cargo ships are being re directed elswhere. I don't see why they couldn't clear one area out, and be right back in business in days as far as shipments go.
Ukraine did it. Ask Putin. So lets pretend for a minute that those flashes across the bridge were sequenced thermite charges, and the whole thing was some kind of an inside job. They even let the traffic through first so it was all clear. The pot hole guys in trucks on the bridge were actually secret agent demolition techs, and they escaped on a raft minutes before the event after setting up.. And cleared any evidence at 2-3 AM when it was still dark. Why would they want to redirect all the huge cargo ships down through other countries, and then over to the west coast again? What if they were actually doing it to protect us from whatever could be in all those containers on the way?
You appear to have an affinity for conspiracy hypotheses. So lets pretend for a minute that those flashes across the bridge were sequenced thermite charges, and the whole thing was some kind of an inside job. Really,at this point what is not possible??? lower by the day w/more than 200 days to go,you have to be here to believe the shit that has/is/will happen,UNFKNPRECEDENTED. This MF is hinting at large scale violence through double speak and innuendo,if it's rigged dickhead why are you running??? Heads I win tales you lose,he should be charged w/threats of domestic terrorism, there is not an honorable bone in the creeps skeleton, minus the backbone that he lacks of course.Trump is predicting at his rallies -- terrible terrorist attacks on the US -- that only he can protect us from.
I'm going to say it out loud now. I predict we'll see Trump's circle of propaganda call this a terrorist attack and blame Biden. I'm going out on a limb and predict that Trump will say it at a rally. Expect a troll to say it here within a few days.
PLEASE,it's a FKN ACCIDENT,end of story, what kind of political exploitation is in store in our seemingly imploding country (the cons. crew on the bridge was 6 Hispanics is Trump gonna run w/the migrant thing)? For whomever, the bridge is 1.5 MI long not 10.5(Putin's pride and joy over the Kerch Strait may approach that length). You appear to have an affinity for conspiracy hypotheses.
What you describe is far less likely than “an undermaintained ship lost power and bumbled into a bridge support not designed to take that much momentum.”
Also lacking in any good conspiracy narrative is “cui bono?” Who benefits if this were indeed deliberate?
The only way to answer other than “nobody really” is to engage the Cumulative Improbability Drive. One needs to start stacking implausible premises to build any sort of case at all.
I understand that conspiracies are tasty, but sometimes “stupid shit happened” is the choice endorsed by Occam’s Chainsaw.
Yep, it's going to take a while just to open the harbor, much less replace that bridge. All the people whose livelihood depends on that harbor and the commerce coming from it are going to be affected. It's bigger than the state can handle. Let's see how well the federal government performs when it comes to reacting to this.Yea it's one hell of a supply chain disaster, and leaves those people very cut off with only the long way out and around.
Oh believe me - if two politicians have something to fight for and both need somewhat monopoly on being the one who repairs it - the thing is gonna remain fucked up for years untill they find profits out of thatYep, it's going to take a while just to open the harbor, much less replace that bridge. Been a lot of disasters lately to chase people away from prime real estate. Just saying...Yep, it's going to take a while just to open the harbor, much less replace that bridge. There is a saying about that.Been a lot of disasters lately to chase people away from prime real estate. Just saying...

a bridge loan?Biden says federal government will fund Baltimore bridge rebuild
WASHINGTON, March 26 (Reuters) - U.S. President Joe Biden pledged that the federal government will pay the full cost to rebuild the Francis Scott Key Bridge in Baltimore, one of the nation's busiest arteries that collapsed hours earlier on Tuesday after being struck by a massive freight ship.
“It's my intention that the federal government will pay for the entire cost of reconstructing that bridge and I expect the Congress to support my effort," Biden said, speaking from the White House ahead of a trip to North Carolina.
