What are these used for?
They can be used for many things. They work well for R.O. systems to boost water pressure going into the filters.
Could be used in irrigation system to boost from 2 psi to 45 psi for pressure compensating emitters like netafim or rainbird.
I use a diaphragm pump on ro system, it's not electric but uses pressure from water line.
I use a similar pump for my irrigation system. If you are using a system that incorporates electronic valves to fertigate, these are what you need. The pressure switch on the pump activates when your valve opens and that causes the pump to turn on.

Yeah, these are the basis of all pressurized irrigation systems, at least for us home growers. This pump will push a boatload of pressure compensating drippers, you want low flow high pressure. Theoretically this pump could handle a few hundred drippers in a pressurized system. The output side of the pump remains under pressure, the input side is unpressurized and you can just drop a hose into your res and it’ll suck it right up when it turns on.

You don’t need a pump for dosatrons, you hook them up to the buildings water supply and use a solenoid and timer after the dosatron.
You would want to use a regulator and back flow preventer as well, just so there's no chance of nutrients back flowing into the water you use to cook or drink. So for example if your water was 60 psi, you'd turn it down to maybe 50 with the regulator, and if your on city water a lot of times they're at 100psi and you would want it lower regardless because I think the max psi the Dosatron is supposed to have is 75?

Because I specifically want a 7 foot 2x4 and I have only found 3 on the market in total. And it is frustrating that the extra height I desire adds so much to the cost
This Winter I will make myself an 8' tall grow tent. Probably use 1/2" electrical conduit for the frame and Panda film to wrap it, and velcro closing straps. The next thing will be reinforcing around any ports that will need to be cut in place. If it appears to be to flimsy, I can ask my wife to sew a big sock to go over the frame and panda film.
