TRUMP CONVICTED

Trump attacks ‘lethargic’ Bill Barr, who said he’d be willing to testify in Jan. 6 trial
Former President Trump on Thursday bashed his former attorney general, Bill Barr, mocking him as “slow thinking and lethargic” and complaining he did not pursue Trump’s debunked claims of election fraud after the 2020 election.
Trump routinely targets Barr over the former attorney general’s regular television appearances criticizing the former president. But Wednesday’s comments came after Barr indicated he’d be willing to testify against Trump in a criminal trial and after a judge warned the former president against trying to influence witnesses.

“Why does FoxNews constantly put on slow thinking and lethargic Bill Barr, who didn’t have the courage or stamina to fight the Radical Left lunatics while he was A.G., and who, even more importantly, refused to fight Election Fraud,” Trump wrote on Truth Social. “He knew what was going on, just look at his past remarks! Unless FoxNews starts putting the RIGHT people on, their Ratings will never recover.”

In a subsequent post, Trump claimed Barr changed his tune about election fraud after bowing to pressure from Democrats. He shared a video of an interview Barr did with CNN in September of 2020 in which the then-attorney general warned it was “playing with fire” for the country to expand mail-in voting so rapidly ahead of that year’s election amid the coronavirus pandemic.

“We’re a very closely divided country here, and people have to have confidence in the legitimacy of the government,” Barr said at the time. “People trying to change the rules to this methodology, which as a matter of logic is very open to fraud and coercion, is reckless and dangerous, and people are playing with fire.”

Following the election, Barr said the Justice Department had not found instances of widespread fraud like Trump alleged.

The former attorney general later testified to the House panel investigating the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol riots that Trump’s claims of fraud were “bullshit,” “nonsense” and “crazy stuff.” But he told the panel Trump did not show an interest “in what the actual facts were.”
Trump was indicted earlier this month in Washington by federal prosecutors over his attempts to stay in power after losing the 2020 presidential election to President Biden. In a 45-page indictment, the Justice Department alleges Trump engaged in a campaign of “dishonesty, fraud and conceit” to obstruct a “bedrock function” of democracy. He pleaded not guilty to the charges, which include conspiracy to defraud the United States.

Barr told CBS “of course” when asked if he would be willing to appear as a witness in Trump’s trial. He declined to answer whether he was interviewed by the special counsel in connection to the federal investigation.

I’ve seen two pics of De Oliveira in the news today, and he has the same odd pained expression in both. Like he ate something far too spicy for breakfast, and it wants out now.

perhaps unsurprisingly, there are several hot sauces with a butt theme.

Maybe she should do the unexpected, a little shock and awe for Donald by locking him up for a week in a DC jail, just to show him whose boss and that she is not fucking around, next time it's jail until trial. Now repeat it 3 times so I know you understand it!

If Donald were to be jailed my preference would be the notorious Fulton Co jail, cockroaches and the bedbugs will literally bleed ya white.

Trump dares judge to jail him pending trial

Criminal defendant Donald Trump is facing a legal firestorm with four indictments and 91 total counts against him. Despite clear warnings from a D.C. judge on his conditions of release, Trump is testing the limits with what some DOJ veterans describe as “witness tampering” and personal attacks against judges and prosecutors. MSNBC’s Brian Tyler Cohen reveals why he could go to jail before any trial even starts.

why are you suggesting a week?
It should be pending trial.
Watch the defense’s delay tactics disappear.

Oh, I agree, but it's better than a slap on the wrist and a lecture and I figure it would drive Donald nuts and to extremes that should get him locked up pretrial. I feel that once they get Donald in a cage until his trial, he will never get out of one except in a bag. It is an incremental punishment and keeping with past practices, looks better too, than just locking him up without a serious warning. One always has to remember what would happen to anybody else who did the same thing and simple equality under the law will be Donald's downfall.

I think a brief incarceration is not in the cards. It’s binary imo. If he pushes a judge far enough to incur detention, it won’t be a halfway thing.

The rationale for the detention is his persistent endangerment jurors and officers of the court. That doesn’t go with releasing him before trial. He has already had more than one serious warning. Your suggestion that he hasn’t is the sort of thing his lawyers might try to sell.

I have to tell you the timing of all this is pretty interesting with the 14th amendment in play and all. I don't think the republicans can remove Donald from the state primary ballot, it isn't a public office. However, he can be removed from the general election ballot, but he has to file the papers as a candidate first, then he can be sued by damn near anybody to disqualify him. The republicans will likely be in a position with Trump on trial somewhere during the primaries and winning them anyway. He doesn't file to run for POTUS until after the convention as the party nominee or an independent, only then can he be sued and removed from the ballot. The GOP could be left high and dry with no candidate or a RINO candidate on the eve of the election.

This is getting more entertaining and interesting than worrisome with each passing day. I see absolutely no pathway for Trump to the presidency because of the 14th amendment, it's all a show and waste of time and won't help Trump at all, but it will screw the republican party bigly with Donald going down snarling and swinging. The next issue is hammering the GOP in the states and federally in 24 and Donald should help with that.

It's a politics argument and giving him enough rope so that his head pops off when the slack is gone.

This is a judicial matter, not a political one.
Unfortunately, politics is involved, Trump is getting special treatment already, but as the process continues the equality under the law will increase. The judge stands a chance of getting impeached by Kevin's house, so she had better have her ducks in a row, Kevin is gonna impeach Biden FFS.

They can't handle the truth, cognitive dissidence will be a bigger issue for them moving forward.

Those impeachments, if they happen, will be performative political theater at its extreme.

I still believe that those antics are hastening the destruction of the Republican brand.

Neither Biden nor Chutkan will be convicted. The thing I have steadily underestimated is the voting public’s tolerance of all this obvious horseshit. Our national politics are showing no sign of becoming less tribal.

Chutkan sounds like she has her stuff pretty well together. Her ducks are well-arrayed, and if she chooses to jail defendant, I think that act, and her reasons for it, will survive any review that isn’t corrupt. With at least two justices in rich men’s pockets, that is an open question imo.

Melania’s Take on Donald Trump’s Fourth Indictment Is Basically “Sucks to Be You, Pal”: Report

I'll bet she could get a piece of his POTUS pension, until the democrats cut it off for convicted felons serving federal time, just like they will cut off the SS, cheaper for federal prison guards to deal with him. They gotta win in 24 and if they do another J6 report will be coming after the legal dust settles a bit, congress will need a record of all this shit and new laws will be required to deal with possible repeats.

She better have her own money because Donald might not have much soon. Does the first lady get her own pension?

I think she has legal exposure you can't be that close to Trump and not get any slime on yourself. It might not look good to have Trump and her behind bars though, but ya never know if some prosecutor goes where the evidence leads or follows the money. I think Garland would kill any indictments for her though, unless she was a very naughty girl.
