mason jars are shit

Can someone explain to me what vegemite is? Is it like peanut butter? Milo just looks like Ovaltine or the old (really old) Hershey's Cocoa tins from the 80's. Sounds like you'd be happier with unused paint cans. Airtight lids, 0 leaks, just a bitch to get in to.
It’s yeast extract. Comes in a thick, dark gooey mass not unlike resin from a used pipe or so. But tastes a little bit better.

Kinda like butter mixed with soy sauce lol
The stuff mechanics have in a grease gun only grainer
None of this is helping the image in my head, I hate to sound unworldly but... Y'all eat this? I am familiar with desperate hunger so I understand sustenance over, presentation, texture, and apparently flavor.

So, someone made a big batch of beer and decided to scrape the press and mix it with butter and soy sauce?

I've been wondering if all my weed curing in mason jars is actually as fresh as the popcorn buds i been putting into milo tins when i ran of glass mason jars.
then i realised that once i took the mason jar out of the cupboard for any length of time the buds were getting light from the windows by day and the lights at night.
so next time im curing a bunch of weed, i might save more milo tins and put the choice buds in there for a while.

dont get me wrong a mason jar full of weed is great, to look at, i just noticed more terps in the milo tins is all

could i be onto something ya think, about ditching glass jars for tins?

mason jars are not air tight for the most part. i can't get most of mine to keep the vacuum seal, especially the small ones. i keep my jars in a drawer. it's dark in there. the brown glass mason jars are super expensive.

i cant believe there is anyone on this planet that has not had a cup of milo

perhaps theres 3 people in India somewhere, its basically malt and chocolate

you guys saying the coffee tins in the UK and states dont have a metal lid on top, wonder what the reason for that is
it's plastic....we have a lot of plastic pellets we send to china to make plastic things they send back to the US.

The rings will last indefinitely - but do you replace the lids periodically? It's recommend that you replace the lids every 2 years to keep the tight seal as the rubber does harden over time. That is just what rubber does.

When we make strawberry jam each June, we use new lids each time so we are buying something like this quite often:

These lids fit the standard mason jar ring so with replacement lids, you and your jars will keep weed good for a year or so.

And to keep the light out, drape a large dark towel over top of the jars which will keep any light off of their cargo.

... Also cannabis can be difficult to keep airtight. A tiny piece of shake can screw up the seal on a gasket or a ziplock. Even if that particular piece doesn't break the seal, it's sticky and gritty and builds up over time ...
Ah yes!!! Those little sticky bits. Eventually that stuff can get as hard and difficult to remove as Krazy Glue! I am sure that everyone is constantly cleaning that shit off their grinder too.

Something to try once the jar is empty - and the lid is still re-usable - wipe the rim of the jar and the rubber seal with 99% ISO. Cleans that gunk off and helps to keep the seal as tight as possible.

A dingo ate my baby.
you sound like Elaine off sienfield

That may be, but we don't call Sprite Lemonade, either. :P
neither do we
We can get vegemite in the states. Not all of us eat the junk we export. I’ve never had Milo, and I even lived in England for a year.

But I doubt that Milo canister is air tight like a mason jar, which is part of the goal. I keep my jars in a dark box in a cool basement. Storage conditions are important too.
oh its air tight otherwise the milo would loose its freshness

Duct tape around the jars negates light and chance of shattering fwiw. Duct tape is cheap at too.
imo anything with a “ziplock” closure isn’t reliable and glass is inert.
What is this “duct tape” of which you speak
RED GREEN rules lol

if anyone is game to try vegemite, the trick is lots of butter and a thin very small amount of it on top of the butter

it is a yeast extract, that is salty not sweet, full of vitamins(vitamin B is good for you) so you dont put it on like jam or a hazelnut spread

if you havent had milo you missing out its alot nicer than Ovaltine

im starting to feel sorry for the average joe in America, no Milo or vegemite toast to start the day,

it must be almost be like living in a 3rd world country :eyesmoke:
Do people actually like Ovaltine?
