Hi there My first grow organic, I use eco thrive soil and growing autos, everything was going smooth but new growth seems to be getting yellow tips and turning a lighter green, I was using fresh rain water and brewing tea with - kelp - micro tea powder from grow shop - charge - black strap molasses, my question is what is going wrong? My guess is wither PH levels in soil I don't pH anything I thought the soil can buffer itself or I am either overwatering. Or it has a magnesium defincy? Any advice of anyone would appreciate it! I had to look up eco thrive soil, is that a dry amendment you add to soil?

Hey guys I've been watering less but I'm not sure if it's fixed the issue. The bottom leafes are turning yellow and crunchy fast, they are autos and defiantly should not be yellowing this fast at this stage, how sure are we that it's to much nitrogen and not the other way round and it was to low on nitrogen? what's your water source, ppm of that water source?

I had a feeling. Calcium Toxicity. Check your additives, feed, whatever you use to grow your ladies, and check if they have calcium. Now add that to what your putting into with the water. Calcium Carbonate in the tap water. The molecule in Calcium Carbonate in the tap water is too large for the roots to take up, until it gets broken down, (microbes, bacteria, the incredible hulk, however it happens) that's when that broken down calcium gets obsorbed. I've recently found out that calcium buildup doesn't bother cannabis when they are in Veg. it's not till they change (right after the flower stretch) is when the tolerance to calcium changes. Then the carnage begins. Every strain is different though. Some react to the calcium buildup, others don't. The tip burn is the plants leaves trying to get rid of the calcium. Excess calcium will block magnesium and phosphorus. (which slows down your growth)

So, I looked up the soil you use, it's a premixed soil that they say can take a plant from seed to harvest. I have used similar products from different manufacturers and have had similar issues across multiple runs. From my experiences, I personally think your soil is depleted of some nutrients. I would switch back to rainwater or get a small RO filter (3 stage for around 100 bucks on ebay or amazon). This way you're starting with a blank slate. Add calmag to the water because you definitely have a magnesium deficiency (obvious in your most recent image) and your soil has a high coco content and the calcium will keep that coco buffered. I have always used Botanicare calmag at 1tsp per gallon from veg through late flower, but you can use whatever you like. Get a top dressing amendment. I suggest Dr Earth only because it's what I'm familiar with and it works!. I've heard great things about Gaia Green, and there are many others out there as well. Dr Earth has both veg and bloom versions that I have had great success with. The bloom doesn't have calcium, so I mix bloom and veg together and alternate between using just bloom, or using the mixture during flower. Topdress at 1/4 cup per 5 gal of soil every 3 weeks. Get your hands dirty and mix it in to the top layer of soil and then water it in. I'd start with the veg/bloom mixture in your case. She will bounce back, but be patient - everything takes longer w organics because your microbes need to break it all down. The cal mag however will be immediately available.

It is hard to tell how many different plants you have and are showing. The feed is off, it had what it needed during veg and when it went through stretch into flower the nutrition it needs is no longer available.

Need more info about what plants we see...one looks fine the others not so much.

Thanks for all the reply guys, all plants have been effected just some have handled it better, it's starting to get really bad and fast now here is some new pics, I think you are all correct there was to much of something and it's locked out and caused this, so would you say use rain water add some cal mag is my best bet from here to correct things? I added some worm humus ontop of the soil just now so hope that helps when waterd down

Epsom Salt if you have to "add" something. Again, if this is a lock out...adding anything won't help. Priority should be getting the that soils pH asap. Then adjusting the soils pH if needed.

Each of them has what may be the same issue, but is in varying degrees.

No soil except in rare situations is going to make it all the way to harvest without adding more nutrients. That one on the left looks fine, more or less. The others are lacking some nutes and may be sensitive to other elements like ph...but it looks like 3 are not able to get enough feed. N is hard to fine tune especially now with an auto in flower.

My vote is a little deficiency. Looking great otherwise. IMO if it was a toxicity you'd have some bad tip burns. What are you using for base nutrients in your soil (during flower)? I think your more seasoned than I am, I'm shooting from the hip here. (just wanted to add in theory just adding a little EWC top soil, might be enough to carry you over with the calcium)

Also curious if your using tap water.

I wasn't using tap, when this showed up, so I switched over to rap. This is only my 2nd grow so I'm definitely not more seasoned lol. I'll go check on some EWC thanks!

Could be a pH thing, and... organic takes about a week or so to see any results. Also, damage to leaves is usually permanent, you'd have to go by new leaf growth. And... dropping all that calcium products could've caused them to bind to the soil, a lot of maybes. Your soil might be jacked up. or getting there. Look into humic acids and cation exchange within the soil (got compost?). I can't explain it into detail without sounding like a fool here so do your research. I didn't understand it before when some members here harped on low npk feeds (4-4-4 for example) until keeping the balance of the soil was a thing. For a healthy bioactive soil you need/want the bioactive (bacteria/fungi/protozoa) to do the majority of work. Any salt/bottled nutes will throw that off, any one sided high amount off nutritional supplementation will throw that off, we should strive to keep the cycle in check. You know your doing it right when all your doing is just watering. Kinda boring sometimes when you peak into the tent and every thing is mostly ok.
