Wow this thread kinda got derailed hey?
because if you look at my page... back in may this wierdo became literally OBSESSED with me and went to every single post i had made ever lmao Such a damn bum. Couldn't wait to come back and embarrass him. Starting to wonder if he doesn't have multiple profiles. His type usually does lol But either way... He couldn't do what he said he could. And when his crappy grow is done, none of his 5 foot larf sticks will weigh what my 14 inch 2.5 gallon manifold did. He got beat by a newb and the proof is in his replies and hesitance to blow me out of the water with his gargantuan bushes.

hint: it's because they're see through.

Oh and what makes it even more embarrasing for you... these seeds ended up being leftover BEASTERS seeds. You got beat by BEASTERS dude. Talking bout look at my crystals and scram lol Like I said, I wanna see the whole larfy ass bush and then wanna see how much it weighs. Bet you number 12 alone pulls a qwap even without the bud i stole off her last week lmao It's alright too, because I'm not done bothering you. We have plenty of genetics. You may as well just block me now. I'm gonna be popular around here.

You always been a little snitch, crybaby? Or is it something you grew into over the years?

so how does that explain the article and several others experience?
I just found this what supports light bleeching and explosive growth being a cause.

but then have read this which contradicts it https://www.leafly.com/news/growing/white-tips-on-cannabis-buds

would you be surprised that the "white tips" are actually flavorful and very potent? I would too, but I always am happy to see what is changing

Yeah this plant has grown for 1000000000 years...
"what they thought was burnt... was actually very potent and tasty"

Have you read into this much?

and then this points furthermore into varegiation https://www.thcfarmer.com/threads/wierd-bud-tip.18499/

I know you are thinking it is light burn... but what if it isn't? Is this a good topic to discuss?? Maybe things aren't as transparent as they seem...

Now to backup the "argument" of this being light bleaching. Here are some signs of bleaching https://www.growweedeasy.com/cannabis-plant-problems/light-burn
Do you see alot of these signs with the newer pics?

It doesn't only happen on upper leaves.. the overall plant is effected and it seems pretty clear when the plant is getting too many photons

what do yall think? For me it is just a smoke test... Is it tasty and gets U fucked up. Then it is not a bad thing and may want to record strain/keep strain and share what lighting and heights you've used~ as well as medium and feeding..
This will help everyone else decide how this happened and if it is good or not. If able to replicate this, you could determine what caused it.

Overall though, generally, this isn't a desired trait. Albinism/ variegation hurts yields even if % is higher as far as I've read. The benefits do not outweigh the negatives. Great topic yall

I had an auto white tip on me. It just started turning white at the very very top and the flowers were awesome. It was only that one top cola but the white tipping progressed from the very top down around the cola, each flower top turned white very slowly. It's not from bleaching because I put it outside in the sunlight this summer and it continued. When I harvested it, I kept the white flower portions separate during the drying process and then I ground it up and smelled it. The white tip had a completely different smell than the normal flowers and the smell was awesome! I didn't smoke some and the white tips gave me such a mellow excellent hi that I am now working on getting my other plants to wipe tip during growth. I've got one plant that has got five colas that have just started white tipping and the thing about it is they are further down away from the lights than the ones that aren't white. I'm running Platinum LED 600 LED lights with grow and flower LEDs on, 4 and 1/2 weeks into flower. Looking at the white tips under a microscope shows that they are trichome upon trichome unlike anything I've ever seen before. You've got light burn and you've got bleaching and then you have white tipping, I do not believe that the white tipping I'm experiencing has anything to do with burning or bleaching None of the leaves show any change in color, it's just the flower as it's growing, the flower parts themselves.

did this happen under "blurples"? I have a friend running blurples, and come to think of it, it happened to me using blurples too. The tips were white but it really didnt seem like the plant was bleached.

Perhaps it is a product of too much DLI of a certain wavelength found in blurples or something. Thanks so much for sharing what you've experienced, because I thought it was crazy when I ran into it as well.

I had an auto flower white tip on me and decided not to harvest at the point where I should have according to the common knowledge out there. I let that thing grow and the white tip kept getting larger, spreading down the top cola in a spiral fashion. When I harvested it I separated the white from the rest of the bud, ground up the rest of the bud and the white tip separately and put them into separate containers. They did not smell like each other, the white had a smell that I can't even describe other than it was citrusy and it was wonderful! I couldn't get enough of it just smelling it. I then smoked some of the white tip and had such a mellow happy high, I haven't had a high like that before and I've been smoking 44 years. The next day I smoked a little bit of the rest of the bud and got a good high off of it, tasted good and everything but it was not even as good as the white tip. I decided to go on a quest to white tip my current grow and so far I've got five colas that are white tipping and what appears to be a sixth and it's only been 5 weeks of flowering. I've got white tips out of one plant and the other two are just growing really good, possible evidence of white tipping on one bud on one of the other plants but it just started today so I'll know more in a couple days. This is something that I'm going to go ADHD on, hyper focus and learn how to do it to where I can get white tips on all of my plants, then maybe I'll go commercial and sell white tipped cannabis to the shops. If I do find out how to do it reliably over and over again I probably won't tell anybody! But then again I usually share too much so maybe I'll link the information out there. It's not a fault in the plant, the white tip flowers look different from the regular flowers, completely different. I've looked at them underneath the microscope and all I can say is they are awesomely beautiful and totally different. It's like the queen flower or something! White tipping is a good thing.

Anyone ever seen a big collection of white pistes at the top of a main cola like this before? They're almost not even pistes as they seem thick and kinda rigid
It is called White tipping. I had an auto white tip on me and it freaked me out but there's absolutely no way that it was bleaching or light burn or any other thing you would consider bad. That white tip has a much higher concentration of THC and a different terpene profile. I decided I was going to consciously and on purpose white tip my next batch which I'm doing. I've got five colas that are obviously white tipping and it appears like I have three to five more that are giving an indication of starting to whitetip. I in no way did anything that could bleach these flowers or light stress these flowers or heat stress these flowers. I I'm not going to tell my method yet because I've got to confirm it with the next batch that I'm going to grow. It is a very good thing and if you cut off that white-tipped spot after you dry the bud and smoke it separately you will know exactly what I'm talking about!
Do a Google search for white tipping and the first few results will give you an idea of what it is, the results from that point on are pretty much useless because they start just showing the results for white or for tip or they throw in white tipping leaves. Check it out because it's real and it's very very good!

lets see a smoke report of that white bud. What I'm reading about this is that the white part of the bud has tested higher and THC and has a very terpy flavor in that article..
If this is a bleached bud, wouldn't everyone here agree it would taste like shit and not get you high?
I am not seeing any light stress on this plant, it is more like what is described on that article with a certain mix of spectrum
I've done that and that section of the bud that turned white was much stronger and had a completely different taste.

Okay, here's the pictures of the plants that I intentionally White tipped. Under the microscope after I harvested. I want you to tell me that those don't look healthy!

Due to my inability to control the environment, the white tips were all very small. I took eight of the ones left, ground them up and smoked them. The only way I can describe it is sublime. It was a long lasting, really mellowing happy high that I had never quite experienced before. Yes, I am going to get my place set up so that I can control the environment and do it again, this time making huge white tip buds. I know how to make it happen so I'm going to take advantage of it. I guarantee you it is not any kind of damage to the plant. It is not LED bleaching, it's not heat damage or light burning, it's nothing like that. Look at the trichomes on that and tell me that there's any evidence check those artists reaction to something that damaging to the plant.
