1st grow. . . Male or female?

I don’t see anything to indicate it’s a male. Do you see any sac’s developing anywhere. That close up just looks like the start of new growth.

Growing outdoors? Check your weather app and see how much daylight your area is getting currently, should start showing a week or 2 after the light dips under 14-12hrs per day. Nothing showing here yet. You could always do a 48 hr full dark period but that puts a lot of stress on yhe plant and this late in the outdoor season could spell disaster.

None never grown outdoors but some strains dont need 12 or under according to 2 handbooks i read, strains originating closer to the equator are bred to handle more sun as equitorial sunshine usually doesnt go below 12/12 with some showing signs with a little more. All of my experience is indoors as a hobbiest, but i will pass on direct info from my books. Im not claiming to know everything but if I read about it in the 2 most reputable grow guides, im not gonna be afraid to pass it on. Its a forum so om just adding info and ppl can take it or leave it.

I will say this tho my books both said no more than 14. I guess its a chemical reaction, when the plant diesnt recieve light for a certain photo period it stops producing a hormone that keeps it in vegging, and the amount of time this takes can vary strain to strain with 12/12 being the general rule of thumb because it works accross the board

Just for info. Im not saying im right or wrong. I either pass on reputable information from published authors. Or i just try and pass on information ive gathered first hand. In no way shape or form will I ever tell anyone they are wrong and I am right as Ive only ever grown for fun until recently. I just like to be a part of the community and help if I can and am always glad to be corrected. Ive already ran into a few people on other threads who were very condescending, and all I did was offer suggestions. I even stated that its just basic info to help get their grows back under control after over watering and feeding, but that it was super basic and some of it was probably me relaying stuff in a....poorly worded fashion as I am not great with interpersonal communication.

I ran into a couple of those people too last week. I discovered something new and i had too proof everything on their terms otherwise it was just bro science. Your ok in my books. :cool:

Thanks I really appreciate you saying that. Some of these other people really made me feel unwelcome, which is something I am not familiar with in the cannabis community. I would have stated what I said above about just passing on info from published works, but like I said not welcoming in the slightest. I have horrible social anxiety even on the internet which seems dumb. I want to learn and get out there and meet people who can give me insite when I interpret literature wrong. Or people who can extrapolate what Im trying to get across without being a douche. I literally almost closed down this account already because of this and I havent even been here 72 hours yet
