Hamburgers again last night. These were done in the smoker for a little while and then finished off on the grill for a quick sear and to melt the cheese. They were delicious. A very nice smoky flavor that changed everything. I don't think I'll do it this way all the time but going forward probably 30% of the time I'll smoke the burgers.

It sure is going to be nice when I can put a couple nice slices from tomatoes fresh from the garden on.

I'm finally there, we have yellow and red ones. I think BLT's will happen again tonight.
We've had some cherry tomatoes. Sungolds but the big ones are not even close. Crappy spring here. I know of others that had to replant peas and beans just like I did. Too wet and cold at night. Seeds rotted in the ground. Got the tomatoes and peppers out late but the good thing is that they're really loading up. Now with this weather they're going crazy. It will be a late harvest but should be a good one.

Well I'm going to add bacon now on the next burger run.

I have some bacon I made and some of it is all uneven end pieces and such. I'll use some of that on the next grind. In fact I'm pulling some out of the freezer right now. I'm doing grilled chicken tonight and smoked turkey breast Saturday but Sunday will see the bacon/beef burger.

Do you think I should do 15-20 minutes at a low temp in the smoker and then finish on the grill or grill only? So many options and all end up with smiles. Sliced jalapeno? Butter fried egg? I'm not ashamed to admit that I like the Kraft Singles on a cheeseburger but maybe I should get fancy with the cheese.

Shaved parm put on while patties are in the smoker and then just the bottom seared on the grill. Top that with some sauteed mushrooms, a thick slice of sweet onion, maybe even some avocado slices.

The choices are unlimited. The hamburger can be simple or extravagant. It's usually delicious.

damn, i might have to make a few patties for this weekend too now!!!

i've actually never done burgers on the smoker (yet). i usually go with 2 burger formulas: pueblo green chiles and colby/jack and/or blue cheese crumbles, bacon strips and sliced red onions.

one thing i tried a few weeks ago was smoking chix wings first and then popping them in the air fryer. they turned out killer.
