Did my plant die?

I went to work on Wednesday and the stem was perked up, I came home and the stem is on life support.
I watered it down because the stem still feels sturdy, but is she gone?
Not sure what's going on, this is the 2nd seed that popped and then died on me.

It's in foax farm soil, the soil was wet when I left but obviously dry when I returned home.

People are telling me to start indoors, but there's no sun indoors and I do not have a light. 1 person said to use a lamp until the leaves start to grow. I have 2 more Alaskan purple seeds and I don't want to waste them.

Not much info but my guess over watering almost looks like i see it damping off. You can start indoors easy and dont need a special light for them. My experience starting in ff soil ocean forest to be exact is hot so i get stunted plant or its too hot for some and they burn up.

I have 2 more seeds, I'm not sure if you are saying the soil is bad, but, are you saying pop the next seed, put in pot, keep indoors? I can keep near a window but the window won't get 1 hours of sun light.

Someone mentioned to get FF happy frog soil.

Don't have one, can I bring under a lamp? I know it won't give off the same energy but it gives off some heat.

If its damping off yes but im not positive it looks savable to me honestly. You can go get a screw led or cfl bulb that will fit a household socket for not alot at all will be enough for a seedling that small. If it recovers then start hardening it off for outside

Not saying soil is bad i use it. Im saying its a soil with alot of nutes already typically a months worth. I am saying its not a great choice to start seeds in. Ime its much easier to start in a seed starting mix or plug and transplant to ffof when its big enough

I'm going to try the light bulb. I can buy new soil but it will take a few days to get here. Hopefully FF can hold until it comes.

It can hold for a month lol im not even saying its the soil. Like i said that looks like the result of to much water or environmental issues like temps and or wind. Lots of people use ffof from the go and do great just imo easier especially as a new grower to start in a mild to inert media

Has it been outside from the time it broke soil? If so more likely a water issue imo

You don’t need to get new soil if your worried it’s too hot. If you want to get starter seed soil go for it. If you want to save a few bucks you can use the FF soil and water it until it has run off. Your essentially washing the nutrients out of the soil.

I personally think the issue is more likely over watering. Seedlings don’t need much water. If your heavy handed with the water use a spray bottle. You need to let things dry out a little before watering it again. Roots need oxygen so you can drown them by keeping it too wet for too long.

I used a spray bottle and only watered when the soil looked dry.

yup it was outside only 2 days though. I watered using a spray bottle when the dirt looked dry

I would soak that soil
Outdoors and wind will make a spray bottle inadequate

I'm going to water and then give it some shade. Hope it bounces back.
