Leaving water out for dechlorination?

Do you do this? Need to be outside in the sun, covered? Or uncovered? 2 days min?

Mine got full of all kind of debris. Tips?

I usually just have a 5 g bucket i rotate and leave out a day or so uncovered. I never do this with outdoor though?. Probably not an issue but its cannabis you know lol

If the water source is safe for humans to drink it's even safer for most plants. Many people on here grow sterile with oxidizers, that means adding chlorine or peroxide to your nutrient solution.

I personally wouldn't feed my plant with 50 degree water. It could lower the root zone temperature causing issues with nutrient uptake. It also will cause slightly wider pH swings. The same water at 50 degrees is a different pH at 70 degrees.

I use my water at tap temperature which can be pretty cool in Minnesota. It's not going to shock your roots and quickly assumes the temperature of your root ball, room, whatever. It's not an issue.

These plants grow amazingly well when kept warm enough (80+ F), it's a good idea to let your water/nutrient solution warm up to room temperature. So many problems people post about here are either caused by or influenced by low temps. As for chlorine/chloramine, like others have said, it isn't a huge deal-the chemistry of your soil will "dechlorinate" your water quickly, but if you want to be extra cautious you can quickly dechlorinate water with ascorbic acid (vit c). I buy 1 lb bags of it off amazon for $12 or so which lasts me about two years. I use water straight from the tap and have for decades. They add chlorine, ammonia, and sodium hydroxide. Chlorine + ammonia forms chloramine. Plants could care less.

I add chlorine into my reservoir to keep it sterile. Your tap water will be fine for use straight out the tap.

I grow in both soil and coco. I pH the nutrient solution for coco but I don't bother with pH in soil. Plants are always healthy with either medium. I just use inexpensive dry nutrients. I'm currently using MaxiBloom and things are just fine. I don't use any cannabis specific nutrients because they're just overpriced and contain the same stuff as a cheap bag of powdered nutrients. Cannabis specific nutrients are mostly marketing.
