Can Ohio get it done without screwing it up as bad as our Med program was

Right now in Ohio we have 3 measures to legalize adult use in Ohio. HB328 a Dem. sponsored bill, HB498 a rep bill, and regulate as alcohol a possible ballot measure if the general assembly does not vote it in. Our medical program was just recently made a little better we had a tier system that they have removed and also raised the caps on potency. Before now we only had 21 qualifying ailments for med patients, that is gone as well. Hopefully we can get home growth done. Just wanting to get conversation started on where anyone else in Ohio stands on these three measures and what they think of the changes to the med system, or anyone else who would like to chime in. It seems that to get the legislative bills passed they will have to get rid of home grows that are in both bills now. They are wanting to cap amounts at 2.5 oz. at any given time, which we all know most would harvest more than this from one plant. If you are in Ohio please start reaching out to state Reps and Senators through emails and calls it's beyond time we get this done so please help in anyway you can!

I read that a voter initiative in your state fell short on signatures. I think they still have time to collect more. Rely on politicians? They did medical to ensure profits to the 'right' people. Don't hold your breath on home grow.

We got the signatures we needed at the last minute. I am worried about HB328 and HB498 niether have a provision for residency licensing. The way the government here works one will pass just to keep it out of the hands of voters

I remember a couple of years ago when they tried to legalize rec but they had it set up where only a couple of well connected celebrities could profit off of it...I voted no because no homegrow

Sadly most are, Gov. Dewine has pretty much said he will veto the legislation. The good thing is the ones trying to get it done feel they will have the votes to overturn the veto. Our best hope is for it to go to the ballot and we can get the voter turn out we need to pass it. As I said both legislative bills are okay but what they want as far as amounts we can have ay any given time is too low to allow for home growth. I talked with one of the representatives sponsoring the democratic Bill and one change they are considering is to have a personal use/grow license. This state won't allow hardly anything unless the government can make a dollar.

DeWine needs to let the will of the people happen on cannabis. I hope he isn't going to be like that Kristi Noem up in SD, going thru all means to block cannabis legalization.

In Michigan we had to get a cannabis friendly governor and let the voters circumvent the CONservative legislature both on medical and recreational
So time to look for an alternative governor is upon Ohio

Hopefully that happens this year. Dayton was the first City to decriminalize. They mayor at that time is running for Govenor (can't remember her name) so fingers crossed we get the democrats to turn out to get her in office.

Ohio has been decriminalized since the 70's I believe.
