Anyone know what shooting powder and top booster actually are? From the H&G nutrient line?

what is "correct amount of P", you keep going back to this abstract number, when every plant is different, every grow is different
even the same clones can exhibit different genotypes from enviromental stress and all of a sudden changing their eating habits

coco 100% strips calcium, coco is reactive this is basic
and your plants use calcium a semi mobile nutrient for literally dozens of biological functions
its broken down into enzymes amino acids other usable forms of calcium
what is the argument
that you dont know why plants need cal or elevated amounts of cal for certian reasons at certain times

He said too much P or K can antagonise other nutrients.
my advice to anyone setting out growing for the first time is choose a basic nutrient that has everything the plant needs and become familiar with environmental control and manipulation.
Many new growers often look for a new bottle of something when in reality it could be an environmental issue causing problems.
Learn your nutrients
master your environmental variables.
THEN when you feel you’ve exhausted the resources available to you then look to add 1 additional product and see if it makes a difference.

K is very important as well
to much K will cuase Cal to not uptake
i can alwasy tell when im dealingwith growers who have tons of issues they chase, they think its abinary response add more K when not enough K, without understanding the role of micronutrients and how they are taken in and their relationships with media
yes excessive K can deplete cal in a soil, but thats why you only add the PK boosters at specific times when the pant can deal with the increase in avialble nutrients, also when its using less cal and nitrogen thus, which is another reason why you add P and K, P and nitrogen are protagonist and are absorbed together in ratios, less available N over time means a natural decrease in P, and same other way adding more P will increase uptake of N
often when you see a deficiency its actually nutrient antagonism from a competing element
when i hear growers say things like i have this or that without understanding the root issue , abiotic or biotic cause i cringe....

and i fundamentally find fault with add 1 product and see how it works
you should know what to expect when ever using any product or dont use it
none of these things are new are special this is second oldest kind of business since the skin game we are not inventing things

I just feed my plants what they need to stay nice and healthy which isn't much. Plants create their own hormones even cannabis. No reason to be adding more. Some like to add this that and another thing trying to squeeze out an extra drop. In the end it's just money spent for little gain.
Use whatever you want on your plants. I'll KISS and end up with basically the same results without adding a bunch of stuff into the mix.

i actually use a 0-50-0 bloom boost at wk 4, i normally dont notice a need to boost K, in rockwool, but if i was in coco i would as K strips in coco as well
i use rockwool so the bloom booster i use is Bud Boost from Green Planet Nutrients, salts that need to be mixed and smell kinda like vegemite

thiers many ways to grow and get the same result mine work for me...
i have a back ground growing but in the last decade i switched my focus to IPM and production growing and it is slightly different.
we dont chase problems we grow through them, you dont fix plants when you have 5000 plants to take care of you work the room the zone.

Which one? I've been mostly doing organic using KNF and JADAM methods lately but those are too much trouble for a small indoor grow and are best left for a larger outdoor organic grow or for a vegetable garden. Prior to that I was growing in coco using just some basic nutrients with great results. My current indoor grow is in soil but my next is going to be back to coco and salt based nutrients. It's just easier and I don't feel like messing with stinky homemade organic fertilizer for my indoor plants.
Coco and just a basic nutrient that supplies what the plant needs is all that really needs to be done. Nutrients are not the first and foremost thing to be focused on. Used properly they'll all work. Focusing on environment and adequate lighting is more important than brand of nutrient or using additives. Environmental conditions are much more important than anything that comes in a bottle.
This is what I've used for years. Just a blend of cheap salts that provide everything the plant needs.
Nothing fancy and the Micro is similar to Jacks. Put out by what was the oldest hydro shop in Portland until they recently moved to Oregon City next to Flying Skull which makes Nuke Em and have a line of salt based nutrients that are descendents. VitaGrow has been used for decades by cannabis growers in the Portland area both small and large scale. It's all you need for a non-organic grow.
I can't find any information but it used to be called Golden Grow decades ago. Someone from the area might remember it.
