@Cotyledon420 you already have the base of a good water only soil. Check out the SIPS thread. You'd probably do really well with a couple earthboxes and your soil recipe. Any help you need is right in that thread.
I Kno man I'll check em out only thing I need help with is reading the plant during problems like defficiencies and other things too I'm not perfect I got everything else down pretty much I'm using all my old supplies right now trying not to be wasteful...I got to start cooking the new soil soon

Very little deficiencies if your soil is right. Growing this way will allow the plant to drink when it wants to. All we do is top off the water res. Overwatering has always caused me the most trouble. I really dont think it can get any easier than with SIPS.

I wanted to try a little bit of everything living soil bed, 15-30 gallons pots and earth boxes because I'm still finding myself I don't know what I will like more the only thing about the living soil beds ...they are so big once you fill them with soil good luck moving them...the earth boxes have wheels tho...just waiting patiently...despite what everyone thinks I know I'm a good grower

Can you grow more than one plant In a earth box... I'd probably leave all that soil for just one.plamt but I'm still curious

Yes, I grow 2 per box because I like variety. But you could grow one very good sized plant in a 15 gallon Eb. The guys that build their own SIPS usually build them from 20 to 30 gallons, but the 15 gal. Eartboxes have been working great for me.

Actually I never thought about building one that's a great idea

I got a couple of earthbox's that grow great tomatoes and squash. Never tried mj in em.
Have noticed that outdoors the res becomes a breeding ground for all sorts of bugs.... probably not a problem inside though

Were you seeing gnats? That's been the only problem I've had which had been solved using my own compost. I'm fortunate that the hypoaspis miles love it and take care of any FG larvae. My current run i used bagged compost and as usual it had FG. I knew this might be a problem so I screened in some of my own compost, maybe half gallon or so when i mixed it all up. I had some flyers after about 7-10 days but those have disappeared and the miles are crawling out my EB drain holes looking for food.

I also aerate my res.
