Did not realize I got two in this cup.

In the 12 solo's there are Cookies and Cream regular's gifted to me.
20210905_114500.jpg

Overall I got 10 C&C's sprouted and going to give the other two cups a couple more days. Going to leave them in the Solo's till I sex them in a few weeks then transplant them into one or two gallon fabric pot to cuttings for the winter grow.

I purchased an HLG Scorpion Diablo but have not set me new 5 x 5 Gorilla Grow tent up yet, still working in my shop getting it ready.

I know some of the questions I have now.
1. Distance from the lamp during veg and flower.
2. How much do you lower the intensity with the dimmer.
3. I know you don't do anything but LST to the Auto's but what else do I need to know about them.

Thanks in advance for any assistance you can offer me.

So got the tent right, got in to much of a hurry and forgot the drain tray.

So after redoing the tent I was ready to hang the new Scorpion Diablo, removed it from the box and I don't seem to have all the hanging hardware. Got two ratchets but only one hanger.
So I went ahead and hooked up one of my 315's till I can contact HLG and see what I need.

Current setup, have stand and drain tray in place, the extraction fan and filter.

The extraction air is vented to the outdoors via 6" ducting to an old AC spot, mounted a board over that old AC hole.

The three Auto's on the left and the 5 Cookies and Cream regulars on the right.

Plan is to veg the regulars while the Auto's are doing their thing and start them into flower early to find any males. Then take cuttings to try and get enough plants to either do a good SCrog or a SOG. I started 10 of the C&C's and my buddy has 5 of them, between the two of us we hope to get enough females to do what we want to do.

Got the irrigation setup and the tent in order.
Do you think two watering @2 minutes, 12 hours apart will do the trick?

The tote is 27 gallons, the pump is 3 gallon/min @ 55 lbs (have a 35 lb reducer).

Imho autowatering is the wrong approach for right now.
First, you got big bags for small plants (for now) and they are a little different in size. They don't need that much water. It's like almost a gallon a plant a day if I understand right. Maybe a bit less with runoff but still way too much for the size. The plant really needs to be watered when it's dry. These plants are going to need water at different times. I'd just handwater when they are dry/light, at least until you see how much they drink.

Is this a new grow or a first grow?
Do you have a strategy for maintaining correct climate once you got the scorpion up? It will require relatively tight margins in temps and humidity once you get intensity higher.
Also what's your medium? Coco, soil..?
While you're vegging I'd stick with cmh, it's a very forgiving and easy to grow with light.

You are a 100% correct. I got anxious when I did not receive my tent on time I'veHead my light for about 4 to 5 weeks.
The autos have been up for about 16 days And once I got my tent I just got excited excited and anxious.
With the hurricane tropical depression whatever it was came through here last night I loit's like a lost power. Power is yet to come back home but I did not get my morning watering, comma and I move the plants outside so they would get some light today.. They were wet and hot we're in heavySo I've decided to just hand water for a while.
This is a new girl not my 1st grow I have been growing now for about 12 years since I began growing again.. But it is a as I say a negro grow because it's a new gorilla grow chat a and the new scorpion Diablo light .
My medium is Coco pearl light 75/25, And I use Cana Cocoa yhe complete lineup. Have been growing in Coco for annoy 6yrs now, all Drain to waste.
Rocket Soul, thanks for the comment. I plan on running the regs in veg while the Autos do their thing, will give the reg's a few more weeks then the take the auto's to my buddy's place let him put them in with his autos, them put the reg's into flower to sex them. Then put them back into veg till the autos are ready. Then flower the regs.
I am thinking the LED will be fine since I can dim it as needed.
A g ain I will heed your advice and hand water longer.
Thanks my friend.

taking your indoor plants outside and bringing them back inside would probably be the best way to get pests into your growroom. i wouldnt do that if i were you but i hope it works out well. by the way i like blumats for delivering correct amount of water to each pot. they start to drip when the pot is getting dry so they work great but our grow styles are completely different so i guess this doesnt help much :)
well wish you a happy grow and a bountiful harvest.

Yes there is a chance to get pest, but with no power they needed light.
I tried Blumara few years ago, did not work for me, my current system has worked great for a number of years now.
Thank you for your comments.

Know it's not a good idea bit I have been w/o power since Tuesday.

Without power for 4 days now ,been putting them outside during the day, have seen no pest pressures yet.

They are supposed to have the power restored today. I hope so, got new lamp in place. Have not seen it work yet.
20210917_114848.jpg

Going to raise the lamp and dim it all lot, when I do got power.

Yeah, power back on, was down 5 days.
So I move the ladies from their backyard sunning area and got put them back in the tent and turned everything on.
Damn that lamp is at about 30% and it is bright. I really like my new fan and controller, a Cloudline T6, can set high/low temps and humidity. The fan speeds up or slows as necessary. Temps are maintaining well.

I dumped the drain tray, had waste in there since Monday evening.

The Auto Gelato is days ahead of the two Critical XL, which are just now showing their sex.

Under the new Scorpion Diablo the 5 regulars, on the right, seem to have Cal/Mag issues, but under regular light I don't see it. Have been misting them with Cal/Mag and Epson a few times a day.

Just increased the irrigation to 4 cycles per day at 25 sec's each from three cycles at 30 seconds. Have been getting low runoff and thinking that is where the issue is. Increasing the cycles and lowering the run times give me 100 total sec's per day instead of 90 sec's and will monitor the runoff. Will increase the run times by 5 seconds till I get the desired runoff.

Normally run lite runoff per each 24 gallon rez and when it's down to 2 +/- gallons at the end of a rez two to 3 gallons of straight RO is added, which lowers the ppm by 250 to 350. Then after pH'ing, 1 mins cycles are run with about a 10 minute lag time between cycles until the rez is empty. A gallon plus, of the water from the rez, is saved and at the end of flush the plants are hand watered with Great White. Trying to run GW through my irrigation plug the inline filters.

So I am seeing Cal/Mag or pH issues.
Have increased the Cal/Mag and Epsom, plus I had not calibrated the pH meter since I began this grow, so I calibrated the meter and we shall see the results. 20211005_125248.jpg20211005_125319.jpgthis

Better light usually leads to nutrient deficiencies because the plants have so much more energy to work with.

'Tis a good thing!

"Cal-mag" is actually calcium nitrate and magnesium nitrate. You're adding more nitrate than anything else. Instead, add epsom salt and calcium nitrate (mix into solution SEPARATELY before combining!). You won't be screwing up your nitrogen balance so much and as a bonus you'll get more sulphur and that's always good for tasty buds!

You mean too much of a wonky spectrum?

"better light"..., "wonky spectrum"..., "peaky spectrum"... hmmmm, all not very specific...

what does "better light" mean?, it certainly very effeciant, and well built from what people say but better?, give us some details...

what does "wonky spectrum" mean?, i think of wonky as not symetrical or lop sided, are you saying you feel the spectrum is unballanced?, too much red wavelenths?, to much blue?, what are the negative effects of "wonk"?....

what does "peaky spectrum" mean?. when i think of a peaky spectrum i think of sodium and cmh ect, led spectrums in general are very smooth, what part of their spectrum do think is peaky?, and what are the negative effects of such peaks?... sodium + cmh grows top shelf flower and that spectrum is "peak" city.

what does the ideal spd look like?...miday summer sun?, the mcree curve?...

I am so confused, with all the gibberish, I know the light is more powerful than my old 315W CMH's and I do have it throttled back to around 70%.
I was trying to run the same nute requiem as my CMH but that is not working.
So I increased the Cal/Mag to 4ml per gal. and one gram Epsom Salt per gal.. I am running 4ml/gal Canna A&B with the rest of the Canna line at recommended rates and my EC is 1.4, I am still seeing what looks like Cal/Mag or pH issues.
