People talk like paper money is awful, but it's not like gold does a whole lot. Its historical value goes back to jewelry before it was used as a physical currency, meaning its value comes from, "ooohhhh shiny!". Gold's most significant value comes from more modern times as a plating material in semiconductors.

My worry is for the nieces/nephews/Gkids and the struggles that will ensue once fossil fuels have been depleted. The chart below illustrates the consumption of fossil fuels and it's connection to our food production. I see a return to a lot of manual labour in the future - not that that is a bad thing - perhaps we'd be less wasteful/gluttonous then.

Mother Earth is removing it's cancer organically. That is us. The supervolcano known as Yellowstone will erupt, as well as others around the world, blocking the sun for years, sending the planet into another ice age. A few humans will survive, the dust will settle, the sun will shine and history begins anew.

The number of dangerous high temp/high humidity days in south Florida has gone from 25 to around 70 per year. (I heard that on NPR and can't find the program atm) That is when it's so hot and humid, it is not safe to work outside no matter how much water you drink.

I’m of the mind the religion of global warming/climate change/human induced doomsday is its own worst enemy.

What we’re doing to the planet is far more complex than the “climate change movement.” It’s a disservice to the cause (preservation of life as we know it) to have labeled it, politicized it, and weaponized it the way the last 20 years have played out. The Paris climate accord is one laughable example among many.

Developed nations could all get on board 100% with every effort realistically feasible to save the world and it will only delay the inevitable; but not even by that much. China and India must be held accountable heading in to the future or it’s all fucked. They’re a third of the world population and not slowing down.

So far none of the developed nations have done anything to curb greenhouse gasses. Making a start would be a good start.

The USA has reduced it's CO2 output considerably. ChYna not so much. ChYna is going to build 43 more coal plants that are already under construction or on the plans. And more in their third world countries they are bribing with loans on infrastructure that they will default on then ChYna owns them too. Assuming their real estate market doesn't bring them down completely here shortly.

So the USA cuts out our coal plants. And then when the weather doesn't cooperate we sit in the dark. Yet ChYna is humming along just fine. The best way to reduce the population is to reduce their energy consumption. Reducing the global population is the real goal of Climate Change mandates.
