Do you count flowering from 12/12 switch or when you see pistil hairs?

This stupid thread got revived and it mixed me up with the clones with terps thread.
My bad. I was like wtf are they re explaining this shit for. Then realized it was the 12/12 thread shit.

my bad. I was being a smart ass. No shit a clone is a replica of a mature plant at a cellular level. From seed or another clone. Very common practice. However. As far as dna goes. It’s the exact same

No, I don't agree.

The "Lights" have been changed to flowering period ie 12/12, however the plant itself is in "processing period" of producing flowers ie bud and the plant is only truely in flowering period once the flower is showing I believe.

I think alot of people could miss the most important last spurt of the plant if counting 12/12 from switching and not when the plant has showed flower.

Just my 2 cents on it.
I don’t see how anyone can count stretching as veg 12/12 starts when you switch your lights

From flip so people can communicate and have a firm reference for discussion, such as here, on RIU. I also top dress at approximately 28 days after mine go to flower tent.
I harvest by trykes or occasionally because of crowding:peace:

I also don’t even know what the breeder has for flower time on most of what I grow.

Ahh, OK. Gotcha.

Using weeks to represent stage of growth is probably easier since thats been the universal measurement across grow forums for some time now.

But the stretch and like 1 week after stretch is still technically veg no matter if your 12/12 or not. As long as it's focusing on stem and leaf growth it's not flowering. Once flowering begins stems stop mass stretching and the plant stops producing mass fans and focuses on flower production. So yes stretching is still during veg. (Stretch is not counted toward days Flowering except by new growers wanting there flower to be don fast)

And even if you clone that mutation. It still has the mutation. Replica.
Right, however that clone could also have a new mutation, which does not affect the original cut.
Twins are not even close to clones dude
Well it depends on the type of twins you are talking about I guess. You are correct if you are talking about fraternal twins, which is when two eggs are fertilized separately.

Identical twins however are actually very much like clones, in that they are one egg which is fertilized by one sperm to create a unique genetic sequence. The fertilized egg then divides into two while it is still a tiny collection of cells. The self-contained halves then develop into two babies, with exactly the same genetic information, sans any genetic mutations which occur after cell division.

But identical twins are only clones at the moment the egg divides. The two halves may carry the exact same genetics but each will take there own different path in mutations etc. They may both carry a market for abdominal cancer but only one of the twins genetics may mutate to activate.

Of course in all technicality a clone is just an exact copy of the original so how long is a clone a clone?

And how is that any different from a clone of a plant?

I would have to think that the plant clones mutations are locked in. Meaning if Mom has a problem with the cold so will the clone.

Anyways I have no freaking clue.

While that may be true, it wouldn't be true in reverse. Meaning that a clone may have a mutation which occurs after the cut is taken from the mother, which would obviously affect the clone itself, but not affect the mother.

So your saying a clone can have 3 cells But somehow not the mother.
Or a clone can carry the genetics of duck foot but not the mom???

I’m really asking. Because iv been under the direct assumption that a clone was genetic replica of the plant it’s taken from. Problems and all
Potency potential
Terpene potential
Yield potential

A clone is just like a clone.
An organism produced asexually from an ancestor to which it is identical.
