I used to chase the dragon tooHow are so many other seed blanks able to use electronic forms of payment? I have always wanted to order from Great Lakes Genetics but if someone else has the same thing I just have avoided the unnecessary extra step. It’s at a point now where they always have what I want because the other guys sell out so fast due to electronic payment
DBJ has explained why GLG doesn't have an electronic payment option multiple times. IMHO it was pretty sound logic. How are so many other seed blanks able to use electronic forms of payment? If it’s too hard to mail a payment, you really don’t want those seeds. People are very lazy.DBJ has explained why GLG doesn't have an electronic payment option multiple times. IMHO it was pretty sound logic.
TBH I'm more in the boat of "Please DBJ, don't ever accept electronic payments" because it cuts down on competition for packs I'm interested in. Also despite being in a legal state I'd still prefer to keep electronic records of my purchases down to a bare minimum.
I haven't had an issue mailing payment to GLG, but I've had multiple issues mailing payment to another seed bank. The issues seem to occur in my closest USPS hub, though, so I can't fault the seed bank. So it's not always laziness that makes people hesitant to send payment by mail. Once bitten, twice shy as they say.If it’s too hard to mail a payment, you really don’t want those seeds. People are very lazy.
I think you are correct that most people prefer cc for the convenience, I personally don’t mind one bit mailing payment in have done it many times, have actually drove quite a few miles to find a after hours usps kiosk. I do think there may be some less fortunate brothers and sisters out there that may have to save up and scrape up what they can to buy a pack. For those guys I’d say it does have to kinda suck to have to spend $8 more for a tracked envelope to mail payment. If it’s too hard to mail a payment, you really don’t want those seeds. Because USPS has an pathetic package scan rate as compared to their package delivering competitors, USPS sets themselves up for "missing" packages. And yeah, I've had packs (and other deliveries) go missing in the return trip too...but those have almost always seemed to show up eventually. USPS has completely lost a few deliveries for me though. Some have been re-shippable...others have not.If you're weary about sending cash bc of lost payment then what if your seeds get lost in mail after payment. What are you guys getting packs shipped to your place with UAV drones or something lol. Sure I like paying with bitcoin but I rather send cash vs using a credit card where I have the potential to spend more than I should which is dangerous for a seed junky like myself
This is like one of the reasons casinos turn cash into chips at the poker table!Sure I like paying with bitcoin but I rather send cash vs using a credit card where I have the potential to spend more than I should which is dangerous for a seed junky like myself
