How Do Cops Detect Your Setup?

So if the need warants for FLIR how come on cops and all those cop chase video shows, they are flying around using it whereever they want? Wouldnt take much to notice a grow while they were "Chasing Someone"

As far as thermal imaging, I would imaging they Would require a warrant just because of the absolute invasion of privacy.

Technology. Just believe, it isn't all science fiction anymore. We all know so much about FLIR, microwaves, etc.. It's what you don't know about that would surprise you. Their is a lot of Government land being used for R&D. Even more resources being used to hide it from you.

Just because it isn't being used on CNN or to cover the war, doesn't mean we're not using it. The U.S Military defense budget is in the trillions per year. Now, we're the top dog, no doubt. But I haven't seen trillions of dollars in tanks. How many bullets does that buy? Don't we make everything? Doesn't that make it free anyway? I can promise you over half that budget is, "Hidden" monies. So hidden in fact only the Senate Defense Commitee. Which I can also promise you, why a hammer cost 10,000 dollars.

But like I said; The, "Government", isn't looking for Marijauna growers. The DEA, if your grow is big enough. Even then, with increasing Marijuana acceptance and pressure from the House the DEA is focusing it's resources on other narcotics. What you need worry about are your local and county cops. Which, as most know are typically incompotant and lazy unless someone helps the whole way. I.E. your local snitch. If your dog knows you grow, that's to many people. Keep it to your self and you'll be fine. Don't hand them your closet on a silver platter by bragging to everyone about how cool your buds look.

Keep it safe. Stay smart. Do your own research. Be surprised what is public information. If you do want to step up to the 100'ds of plants. Hopefully your looking into security more than this RIU thread. No offense RIU.

No, not at all. Marijuana does not give off a heat signature. I'm talking about the actual signiture (what it looks like to the naked eye) it gives off when a chopper finds a patch outside. That concept of pot plants giving off a special heat is void as it has no grounds for being true. Read my post in full instead of scanning it, then you will know what I meant!

theratfords: It wouldn't surprise me if the military have developed some sort of microwave based imager. It would of course irradiate the subject...but would not be as volatile as x-rays or gamma rays which if you have seen the airport scanners, are only used on your baggage and not in the detectors you walk through.

I say that because microwave has very limited penetration properties therefore it is possible to engineer technology to harness it.

But let me tell you right now that all the money in the world will not change the fundamental properties of the infrared part of the electromagnetic wave spectrum.

Why would you bother when .001% of the money you are proposing could be spent developing scanners in the longer wave spectrums which would turn out real results than trying to remake the universe just so that low energy photons in infrared are somehow converted to high energy photons without infrared changing to x-ray, just so you could make infrared waves penetrate solid objects?

I am all for good security, but it is a waste of time building structures and layers of special infrared proof mylar into your grow op....just to feel better about techo myths. There is enough security things one needs to do which are based on reality let alone preparing against ideas still based in science fiction.

mylar isnt a science fiction myth read some hard core grow guides they all use mylar because it is easyer to get a warrent to scan ur house than to search it. by big setups i meant in the millions of dollars the once the cops are searching for.

man theres alot of emphisis on not telling nobody but i dont give a shit i told my friends its easy to get stuff from people, like candy machine money when they know your a generous fellow! and idc bout cops they want to haul me in jail ill just figure out some way to grow there too!

I recommend you read the Cannabis Bible as well as watch a couple Barry Cooper films on how NOT to get busted. Quite simple if you stay low key.

Maybe in the states things are a little different & the police really do have bigger fish to fry. But here in Australia the cops get 10 plants & Label it a sophisticated drug syndicate and its all over the news and papers. Another thing,im certain here in oz the police can come right into your home just on mere suspicion of drugs or firearms (please correct if wrong) ? So basically they can do what they want. Best advice is never answer the door & hide like a little bitch when they come knockin :))

Q: wouldnt insulation on the walls/roof help to mask some of the heat ?

I would love for them to pull me into court also. Strange to say, but I'd love to take it to the Supreme Court. I'd never plead guilty, to something that shouldn't be a crime. All we need is a legal presadent. Like Roe V. Wade. It used to be illegal for women to vote, or to own slaves. Just because something is illegal doesn't mean it should be! That's called progress!

But I'm in no hurry to get caught. Even though it's illegal, I grow and smoke all day. So it being legal wouldn't change anything in my life. But, it will be federally legal soon enough. Be patient, the American people just now seem to be waking up to the lies and propaganda. There is current federal legislation waiting on a vote so, maybe sooner than we think.

If you need thermal blocking materials. A couple companies make thermal shielding mylar. Works great. You only need it on your ceiling. Helicopters can only look down. Unless it lands in front of your house or something. Check your local hydro shop, they'll carry it.

Like, I said; We can put all the facts we know on the table. But, most of today's technology is geared towards catching much more serious offenses. Not grow rooms. There are plenty of imaging resources the public doesn't know about. Trust me. Do you think we can look into distant galaxies but fall short when it comes to looking through walls? Not at all. But, I can't seem to convice. So find out for yourself. Do some research. Score anything higher than an 83 on your Military ASRAB test and you'll find know a lot more in a few years of service. Join Skunkworks or Lockhead and you'll know even more.

I read up recently on a 747 based laser missle deffense system. Very cool stuff! If you think Airport security is the best scanners they have your ill informed. Like I've said, just because it's not in a scientific journal anywhere doesn't mean it hasn't existed for a decade. But the main thing to understand is: They're not WASTING resources on you! It would be just that, a waste. They find you, at the cost of taxpayer dollars; Only to have your neighboor start up the next day. What would be the point of it all? They know that.

Just don't think things are fantasy. Take care of your plants and smoke some bud dude. Because worring wont change things. If the cops come, they come. If your not willing to stand in front of a judge and stand up for your rights. You shouldn't grow. When people plead guilty their admitting they've commited a crime. I see a garden. Nope, no crime here! The more of us that assert our rights, the more of us the world can't ignore! Write your Congressman, Senator, President, KEEP your voice heard. Not just when you vote.
