1.2Lb Per Auto (DWC)

Hey guys! New here just wanted some advice, totally apoligize if this thread is in the wrong group. So let me get to the point. Im looking to build a diy dwc for 4 plants, with proper genetics, environment etc im looking for 1.2Lb per plant using good nutrients and techniques. I have studied cannabis growth the entire 2020 because it went legal in my state Janurary 2020. On top of studying cannabis growth I also studied mushroom growing, now for most people im sure 1.2Lb sounds insane but its not I assure you. Im buying a 1500w led grow light, building a quality enviroment. Im looking to spend at least $3000 on a 4 plant grow. Im looking to really push the bar with autoflowers. And I will only be using strains with explosive yields. Now I did spend 2020 doing study everyday, Ive already read all the comments about starting your first grow small, but thats just not an option for me. I have already purchased the full spectrum light and will be including bagged c02. For all the vet growers. Has anyone ever seen 1.2lb per auto? Dwc, proper tenting, beastly lighting, co2, quality nutrients, good recirculation, proper care etc. Just really curious because one side of the internet says they have grown autos for years and average a few ounces or less, while the otherside talks about autopounders are the way of the mando lol

Most autos do their own thing, And fast

The strain is very important, most will only yield 2-3 oz

I did a Auto, in DWC, got 7oz, but was not my 1st grow either,mist I get in the 2-3oz range

Good luck on your ambitious endeavor

Is this your 1st grow attempt? Focus on them living not trying to make $$$$ or it will be an epic fail
Have u ever grown anything before

Is that a blurple light, if so it's probably more like 300w at the wall not 1500

What kind of light? Co2 etc? Ive seen people with over 350+ grams per plant.

i think I seen someone do it with autos in a Atomized HP aero system but I don’t wanna say for sure can’t remember now if it was auto or not but he had a massive plant if u look up @Larry3215

You need to read a bit more if you're looking to get 1.2 lbs from each plant under a blurple and bagged Co2. I'd skip the cheap LEDs (and skip the co2 bags) and instead get a cheap 600 watt HPS instead, which is perfect for 4 plants, then I'd focus on something simple and easy to replicate, like Maxibloom KISS in soil or maybe coco-but if you go with coco over soil, you have a LOT more reading to do to make it successful. https://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?t=191645. Research PH and ppms, how, why, and when to test for them, and forget getting 1.2 lbs off your first grow, let alone off of each plant-you will very likely screw something up that will lower your yields. Once you hone your skills, you might be able to get 1.2 lbs off a single 600 watt light. That's 600 TRUE watts, from the wall...not a light that's marketed as a "1500 watt light" but only uses a few hundred watts of actual power. Good luck and keep reading!

As others have said autos forget It. Get good leds like hlg, or someone that uses good quality parts rather than cheap lights claiming to be 1500 watt or more. Real draw should be in the ball park of 600 to 700 watts to get something decent. Bags of co2 aren't worth the plastic they're made with. Get bottles or burners and seal your environment don't use a tent. Be prepared to spend more than 3k

Sorry so many replies lol didnt expect so many, Ill try to explain everything. Ok for lighting its the gavita 1700e in one tent and the spyder 2i in another. However im also now looking at the Growers Choice ROI E-680 because of the similar specs but has an increase spectrum length, which should result in higher yields. Im planning on a closed system, which will also benifit. One pounder for example is "teetee pulls a kila from 2 autoflowers" dont wanna post the thread link as im assuming ill be autobanned lol but its not hard to find. He uses 900w+ wall watts to grow 2 autos and produced over 1100 grams. The strain was Dutch Passion Auto Ultimate, using coco. He even transplanted the auto and once it even locked out. Still produced over 550grams in one plant. There are multiple strains like this that I have been researching. And to answer @Dank Budz the only reason Im starting first on autoflowers instead of photos was because when I started my research last year I had a few checks I wanted to make sure was marked. Photos for sure a pound per plant is lightwork. But with autos it would be a challenge. Plus I like that with autos it cuts out half the labor. Autoflowers in a dwc with great monitoring seemed like a no brainer to me. I got 2 full notebooks worth of study, and 1 more than I plan to use to document every step I take. Sorry for taking so long to reply, ill have to take a look again and see if I missed anything. If this auto grow goes as expected im moving to photoperiods.

Looked at old teetees grows there I wouldn't take advice from this guy his plants look like ass. Also never did see if it his ending weight was dried or hanging. Hard too see a good bit of weight from those spindly ass plants he grew. I also simply hate autos.

Ok so you are not getting a 1500 watt LED, the 3 you mentioned are 645, 630 and 680 watts. I have never heard of an auto that will yield 550 grams but I wish you luck.

Yeah I was thinking hps bulbs but was worried about the location of my grow, heat could be an issue on the exterior of the tent, So I will be already having to keep the exterior temps adjusted so I was worried about burning the plants on the interior so led just seemed like the best to use for my situation, but I will be doing more research on hps bulbs and how to work with them most efficiently. Anyone got reports on the electric bill using hps? I heard it can get pretty costly.

If you're going to invest all of that money into good lights and all the other equipment you'll need, then drop the autos. Find a good cut/pheno of a regular photoperiod plant and keep it around as a mommy for clones, that way you'll really make the most of your investment. Good genetics are just as important as a good light. I've got nothing against autos but to get that "auto" gene, they have to cross a perfectly good photo period plant with Siberian ditch weed.
