Why do I see ppl saying rdwc is difficult. Am I looking at the wrong path as far as hydroponics goes? Please share your experiences so I can weigh the pros and cons

I started with a diy 8-bucket system.
Needless to say, it was a steep learning curve.
Fast forward 5 years, and what I can offer would be to use totes instead of buckets.
Much better platform and easier to keep sealed.
How large of a system are you thinking about?
I grow to make my meds, so I've found that 4 decent plants will yield me around 40-60 oz of dried flower(strain-dependent).

Stay away from uni-seals(let the shit show begin...) and use at least 2" drains.
Some type of chiller would be a wise investment, especially if you're running leds.
It's tough to keep the solution cool when the tent is in the 80's.
I don't use a 'rez' tote in my system, it's just 4 totes connected in series with a 700gph mag drive pump that just returns the solution to the 1st tote from the last tote. I originally routed the output through the chiller, but this year I added a 396gph mag drive just for the chiller circuit.

Hardest part imo is getting started, learning how the system operates, how it doesn't operate.
This type of system is also a pretty good $$ investment between the pumps, and other equipment.
There are different variations to RDWC
Waterfall system
Airstone undercurrent
Everyone does their system alittle different.

I did a simple under current.
Water flows from the brain bucket rez outside the tent, down to the plants, where a inline mesh filter and my pump sits at the end. It pumps the water from the end of the plants, up out of the tent, in through my chiller, and then back into the brain bucket outside the tent.
I use this bucket to monitor and change nutes
I also have another 30g storage bin to the right, this fills with RO water, I can mix nutes here and easily make new batchs of water for the system.
I use PVC float valves for water, when things are full, they float up and shut off the water supply.
This works good in my RDWC when the plants drink, and I also have one in my storage bin for making RO water. When the 30g bin is full of new water from the filter, the PVC floats up, and turns off the supply.

Second story in a spare bedroom. I just see ppl saying to stay away from rdwc and I'm not sure why

Too warm probably.Res needs to be outside of room where its below 70 all the time.Or you'll need a chiller most likely.Also consider leaks,they can happen.

Ok so if I keep the res outside off my tent, shut all heat to the room off and use a water chiller. Would it work? The basement is where the force air heater is and is warm if not the warmest part of the house.

My room stays around 75 degrees tent is at 84 degrees. I can room a ac year round as well?
