Questions about drying

Hey guys, had my plant hung up for 10 days, today will be the 11th day. Stems are still bending when I bend them and not snapping. Is this a good sign my plant isn’t dried out? Buds feel crispy but stems aren’t snapping, also not noticing much of any smell on them either. Humidity is about 50-60 and temp is from 65-70. Should I wait for stems to snap? Or just trim them up now?

How do you know your plant is dried?

I saw a pics of your harvest congrats! Now its the crucial moment not to fuck that and that is actually not so easy. I bet the lower buds are already dry and snap off the stem easily, these are ready to put in jar, than the bigger colas have still wet stem inside them. If so I would suggest to make that stem as short as possible, after cutting lower buds and let them be there around 2 more days and observe the smell changes. Than continue in jar to see its humidity after one day closed. My subjective opinion is that the smell and taste is “better” when jared around 60 or lower. Nice job BTW enjoy!

Ima get the humidity packs when I jar it up, hopefully the smells start showing up. When I squeeze the buds they do smell good. But I don’t want to break buds by accident lol. I go in every day and bend the stems to check. The colas are dry to the touch, but the buds higher up/lower on the branch still feel semi moist. Those ones I can smell as is without squeezing them, the smell great! Hopefully when I jar it up the aromas come out more

If you could get that tent humidity up to 60-62%, you could leave that shit in the tent forever without worries of over drying. But yes, if you are 10 days in and stems are still bending, you are likely doing everything right and better than 9 out of 10 people.
I threw in a humidifier and it didn’t do much. Maybe I’ll put it outside of the tent and see if that helps? At first my humidity was high, and it worried me. But my temps haven’t really been above 70 besides when I accidentally left my oven on all night :eyesmoke:

Do you have air circulating through the tent? You could basically close the tent up completely and maybe leave the vent flaps open or a door just cracked a bit.... Hanging a wet towel in there and keeping air movement to a minimum should get humidity up very easily.

I have my exhaust fan on low, and one vent flap open. I thought about a wet towel, I just don’t want to get too high and it become moldy

It will. Consider using 5 gallon buckets for the first couple-few weeks. Much easier to "burp" than jars. The dry fan leaves also put off an unpleasant smell that takes away from the good smells flowers put out.
I have a shit ton of glass jars that ima use and just let them cure for a week or so and check again.

Turn the exhaust fan off and see what happens. Thats not very much flower for how big the tent is, it shouldnt raise humidity to much. Im guessing the humidity in your house is 50-60.... thats why the humidifier didnt do much, because the tent is just exhausting it to the rest of the house.

I’ll probably do that if it drops below 50%. It should be ready any day now, but idk lol this is the first plant I’ve grown of this size

Started trimming and jarring my bud today, one branch gave me 98.54g! One branch!! So far, 3 hours of trimming and I trimmed 137g total. I’ll post pics later. One bud weighed 5.25g and it’s still not the biggest bud!

So much so. I cut two leaves off of a plant in my flower room the other day. Got in a hurry to go to work. Threw the leaves on my dresser in my room and they fell behind. I came home to my room smelling like a damned barn. I was so pissed all I could smell was hay from two efking leaves.
