Have rootech gel coming this week debating on what cloning method to use. I really want to put soil in some solo cups, cut my clones dip in the gel and put them in the soiled solo cups. I dont have a dome to put them in. I have rapid rooters and nutes and everything.

So I have
Nutes
Solo cups
Heating pad
Plant to take cuttings.

Would you guys mind giving me some tips? (No homo)

Now you guys know what I have to clone in, how should I clone?

Cut clone, gel, put in rapid rooter, put in soil? Idk!!!

For me I cut, dip in gel and then in to Rapid Rooters. They're then put in to a covered propagator under a 125w Cfl on 18/6 light schedule. 5 to 7 days for roots to show and then i put them in to solo cups with soil and back under the Cfl. If you haven't got a dome you can do what ive done before and just use an empty 2l bottle of Fizzy, cut it in half, leaving a bit like a hinge, take your cuttings and pop them in the bottles, instant propagator, this only works for a few cuttings though, unless you drink a lot of Fizzy, lol.

So cut, dip, RR, then put it in a 2L bottle, how often do I spray it?

I spray twice a day just to mist the leaves and then once roots show straight in to solo cups with soil until ready for transplant. I also add mycorrhizal fungi when I move to the solo cup because it really benefits the ladies, top stuff.
With my RR should I soak it for a little bit & then ring it out? Dont do anything to it and just put the cut in? Not trying to sound like a noob. I tried TWICE to clone the first clone never rooted but stayed looking nice for a week then I threw it away. The other clone died after 3 days. Didnt use rooting hormone though. Just tried to do it naturally, misting 2-3 times a day. Both were in domes like a 2l bottle.

It will depend on how moist they currently are. I buy Root Riot Cubes in a re-sealable bag of 100 and they always stay at a good moisture level. If they are a bit dry then yes, I'd soak them and squeeze all the moisture out so that they're just lightly damp. People have plenty of success without rooting hormones, I've put clones in to ph'd water and just left them under my Cfl, took a while, but sure enough roots came out. My preferred method is to dip the cuts in to Clonex and then after I've put them in the Rooter I'll put a little more around the hole the cuts went in to so it soaks in to the rooter a bit. Works a treat mate.

Well I am going to try a couple methods. I'm going to put 3-4 cuts in gel then directly in soil in solo cups. I'm going to try and get a couple more and put them in RR& in 2L bottles or some kind of dome at least. And hopefully at least 2 of them take off.

But from what I've learned about rooting gel. It really does make quite the difference. Faster rooting, better rooting etc.
Others may disagree, but i wouldn't be without a bottle of Clonex in my fridge for Cuttings day. I actually ran out of Clonex at the beginning of Covid so I had to make do and used a solution made from willow bark, actually worked really well, but i was still very happy when I was able to order some Clonex in. You should be fine if you're trying a few different methods, I'll keep my fingers crossed they all make it through. I'm actually taking some cuttings myself in a couple days so I may take some pics for my Grow Journal as a friend was also asking about taking cuts. That tub could do the job I reckon.

Guys follow my journal please, I try to only update once a week.

Anyways. This is what I plan on using. And rootech gel. I'm going to put soil in each cup. Take my cuts. Put them all in their own cup, put the lid on and take care of them the best I can.

Now big question. SHOULD I PUT SOIL IN THE BOTTOM UNDER THE CUPS? TO HELP HOLD MOISTURE IN View attachment 4655610
No problem, I'll pop over and follow your Journal now, im interested to see how your grow goes. Would you mind following mine please https://www.rollitup.org/t/long-time-grower-first-time-grow-flower-journal.1027685/ I'd like to see what folks think of my grow as Im normally very secretive because of where I live, but would like to get any comments so I can try to keep on improving my grows. Nah, no soil necessary, should be humid enough as it is in there, just mist the plants and side of the tub twice a day and should keep it humid in there. Cheers

Awesome. I followed you and started watching your GJ. Glad to make your acquaintance :-) hopefully this dome will work. Should hold humidity better having 8 cuts in there too. All that soil and the dome being as big as it is. Should hold well.

If this is the set up you are going to use, maybe cut the solo's in half, easier to maintain moisture in soil & you'll have more head room for the clones.
I've never used "hot" soil for cloning, maybe research this.
IMO, rapid rooters are easier for cloning.
Also, as in one of your other thread on clone help, don't use a heat mat for cloning, heat mats are usually used for seed germination.
