I am a fairly new grower. I had great success with my first grow. This grow is giving me a few problems. Im sure my ph is off, i ordered a ph meter, its on the way. My plants have been sick for about 2 weeks(i do all this on an extreme budget) i need to know how to safely raise or lower soil ph as fast as possible. My water always tests 6.0-6.5 with test strips. So that dont need fixing. All suggestions welcome.

Are the plants able to be transplanted? If I’m having problems I usually just transplant them and try to remove as much of the old soil as possible. You should add mycorrhizae fungi to your pots when planting and transplanting, it helps get the plants what they need

Well i know it is the ph. Im not guessing, im going based on deduction. Ive tried every other solution, flushing, calmag, epsoms salt. Raised the lights. Tried no nutrients for 2 weeks tried extra nutrients. They are not able to draw up any nutrients and that suggests ph. The stems are red. Leaves are yellow, folded like a taco rough edges. Heres some pics. You make a guess if youd like

If i were to transplant isnt it bad to expose the roots. So how to go about getting rid of most of the old dirt and replacing with new without damaging them

are you using distilled water? what is the temp of the floor they are on?
Take a look at the pics and give me a better reasoning for whats going on it would be most helpfull

That is normal for some strains. Your plants don't look that bad. Hard to tell what is wrong by the pics. They look a little overwatered. Are you sure you aren't trying to fix something that isn't broken? Did you test the runoff pH?
Yea im sure. The pics arent showing them like they are. Im growing the same from the last grow. They were all very healthy green big full leaves. And only the fan leaves turned red and purple. Here is a comparison pic of one that is way healthier than the other. I just gave them a foliar spray of epsoms salt so they are kinda wet.

When you transplant the roots are already exposed all over the outside of the pot, it would bring some stress just from being transplanted but isn’t going to kill, be careful and it’s fine, don’t go just ripping off the soil. With how the plants look I’d transplant or start over

You need distilled water or reverse osmosis water you can get a cheaper reverse osmosis system on eBay they are easy to install

It’s the water, when I first started I did experiments with tap water, reverse osmosis and distilled. The tap water pretty much stopped normal growth. You can buy gallons of reverse osmosis or distilled water if you need to. My reverse osmosis system was like 150 bucks on eBay. I can walk you through installing it if you need help
Why would tap water be any worse than RO. Ive never heard of anyone ever having a problem with tap as long as you let the chlorine evaporate out of it. I might give it a look, but as i said im on a wicked tight budget. Im only able to invest about $100 a month into my grow. What does Ro do that tap doesnt?

Tap water has minerals in it already so you can overdose feedings. RO is pretty much just water. My water from the tap already had a ppm of 330 with RO it’s 13ppm so the nutrients can do their job. I would think a lot of the big grows out west use filtered water. The difference is like night and day
