DIY RDWC - First Timer - Any Advice Welcome

How am I going to get that through the tent with that build, that was my only concern when I thought about it. I'm trying to have my res outside of the tent.

Regardless you're gong to have to cut X's into your tent wall for the piping to go through.

I use a 1/2” bulkhead to feed my water fall but thats because the entry is below the water level as Im using a pvc manifold. Otherwise Id just use a gromet

If you're gonna use 4 though, do it like this.

Or actually do the bends inside the tent. That way the pipings more neat and close together on the outside of the tent.

You cut fuckin Xs! It's as simple as removing the pipe and using some foil tape to repair it if you cut an X. No material is cut away.

Yeah your piping will be literally ON the ground and below that duct unless you legit LIFT the whole thing up like lockem did in his picture with that shelving.

I used 1.5” styrofoam insulation under everything, you can get it thicker. Would get close to level on that hole. It’s the stuff that goes under house siding, I have in floor heat so I had to really insulate my floor in the area.

May have to look into that, may just build a wood platform as well.

Whatever’s cheapest and easiest, the styrofoam comes in like 1-1.5” 2”.. 2.5”. It’s not that cheap though, sheet of plywood would cost me more here still in my case. My sites are raised to clear a 2” board to exit the room, the control is on a slab as well, weight wise I’m using 28 gallon totes.

No sprinklers or sub pump - inline from res, drill holes all around the manifold - connect them all.

Yellow is the holes, 3/4" PVC all the way around - then use 3/4" tubing to connect to pump

You can do it this way if you want. I think it's more work than its worth. 2 small X cuts and am 1 even smaller one for the manifolds line isn't very invasive on the tent and like I said, the 4 flaps of the X fold right back in to place when you remove the pipe. You could even use crazy glue or something right where the X cuts were and probably completely seal the cut.
Think of exactly like how a straw enters a lid. Same concept.
