These are your words from your original post:

“Leadership during world war (2)? You mean the one America entered very late and only because it was attacked by Japan due to trade restrictions?”

It is an inaccurate statement. The US government DID provide leadership before Dec 1941. A large majority of Americans had an isolationist view before that and didn’t want to get involved in another war in Europe. Of course, that all changed after Pearl Harbor.

After Pearl Harbor the American people got behind the war effort. A war effort that their government was already supporting.
How is it inaccurate? You just posted in support of what I said.
Are you a Trump supporter?

Would you differentiate between "isolationism" and non interventionism ?
Hey look Bobby, you have a new friend.

Before you get too excited be aware you will probably have to explain the meaning of both of those words to him. And probably a few others.

Speaking of Pearl Harbor. If anyone is interested in the history of that time, I recommend reading “A Matter of Honor” by Anthony Summers and Robyn Swan.

The commanding officer, H.E. Kimmel was blamed for not being prepared for the attack and became the scapegoat. Even though the intelligence community was aware of an imminent attack, this information was withheld from Kimmel. If we consider the mood of public opinion before the attack, one could surmise the reason to let it happen was to change public opinion.

Further to this it’s important to be aware that the battleship was no longer the most powerful weapon on the sea. It was surpassed in importance by the aircraft carrier. Interestingly none of the 3 American carriers were stationed at Pearl Harbor that fateful day.

Coincidence?

I also wonder what would have happened had Hitler not declared war on the US after the Pearl Harbor attack.

Without American involvement in the European Theatre the war would have probably gone on longer there.

No they don't... you chaps are living in a media fueled hate bubble and can't see past it.. The world hates bullshit much more than it hates Trump..
It was hate from your kind that got Trump elected in the first place. Be honest, you didn't think he'd build that wall and Mexico would pay for it, did you? You didn't believe he'd bring back manufacturing and "make America great again", did you? Trump was a virus you guys voted into government in order to destroy it. Am I right?
