Seeds aren't marijuana anymore, they are hemp. The CC companies aren't obligated to serve anyone and they aren't interested in trying to distinguish between legal CBD or seed vendors and illegal vendors of THC laden products. However, that is a lot different than it being a felony for a seed bank operator.
The SAFE Banking Act would have legalized banking for federally illegal marijuana in legal states and that would have removed all of the risks for banks and probably motivated them to offer card services but it was killed by Republican "leadership."
When you made your first post I felt you were just offering some friendly advise. And that was more than wecome. But your next few post are stating that I do not know what I am talking about. So I will address your statements and end it there. I do not have any problem with you having your own opinion,But I do not like that you feel the need to come into the GLG thread and say the things you have said. So here is my explantion.
When the bill you mentioned above was signed,I did a happy dance. I went to the bank that week and talked to the Branch manager. I have had a business account with this bank for 40 years. And we have a great personal relation ship with her (branch manager) for at least 15 years. She agreed that things looked good to go. We opened a account and got started on excepting credit cards. But before we could get the CC system up on the site, the corperate office of PNC bank closed the account. The reason being they do not deal with cannabis companys. They advised we try a credit union and that also failed.
All other CC companys that have offered to work with us involved sending payment over seas. And that is not going to happen at GLG. If my local bank can not offer me CC's, I will not risk dealing with anyone else. This is for your protection and mine. Do you want some fly by night company to have all your personall and banking info. I know I do not.
Now on to the felony issue and the postal mailing issue.
also, nobody pointed out the irony of DBJ being so worried about catching a felony for accepting CC but operating a frikkin' seed bank mailing, for the first few years of operation, federally illegal marijuana seeds across state lines using USPS, LOL
It is still illegal to send seeds in the mail. That is why I am the only person that picks up mail, sends mail or signs for any packages. And Yes I could be charged with a felony for this. And once again my lawer said that is a charge that they would have a hard time to prove. I am sending seeds in the mail. But as you stated above, they do not contain THC.And there are more than a single catagory of a felony.
Now on the felony for banking.
My wife has been a tax pro for 25+years. She is a certified CPA. She has owened her office for 20 years. She teaches Tax Classes every fall. And Gives a Tax UP date class at the local college every January. So if I play this CC it is called money landering. So then when she does our taxes she is comitting fraud. Once again I have to much to lose to gamble on this. Do you think she can say she did not think this was wrong? And it would be my wife they could go after. Would you throw your wife under the bus?
I wish I had credit cards and I will have them when I feel I can do it legaly.
