I just topped one of mine and it only has two nodes.....
All depends on what you are trying to do.

It's fine. You're just pinching off the top few leaves of new growth. This plant can survive outside. It isn't weak. Don't worry so much. You will learn by losing a few. Keep researching. Take notes on what you're doing and you can look back and it will be helpful. Keep on going!

You will be fine to top them you can veg until it has recovered. I would read up on it and yes you can top it. Be sure to research LST and do some of that as well

I was thinking of cutting it with scissors as I cant really get the pulling off way what do I pull off??

I personally wait until the plant gets to 6 nodes and then cut it just above the 3rd node. If you top it too early then you will wind up with a bush of a plant that is very close to the soil and is more difficult to water (IMO). Even while I waited until they got 6 nodes the plants I'm growing now are still a bitch to get to the soil to top dress and water as you can see in the picture below. Another benefit to waiting until they get to 6 nodes is that the plant recovers from topping much more quickly than it does if you top them when they are younger. When you do it, use a clean razor blade or clean and sharp scissors.

Everyone has personal preference. I personally don’t see the point of letting it grow to cut it off. Wait for others to weigh in. I’m still new. When you do top leave some of the old stem to help it not split when you spread it out.

Thank you its hard to know what to do I might wait on because if they die il die

Watch a video on topping. The only reason I ask if auto is because some people don’t like to top autos. Your plant will be fine. Just research and make sure you do it correctly.
