First hydro what am I doing wrong

I do have the vertical style Phillips but I thought they are hotter than running horizontal I only have a couple grows with them I have a lux meter and it says like 22,000 directly under bulb at canopy

Nope, that is the benefit of the vertical fixtures, is that you can run them closer to the canopy. If you think about the bulb itself, it makes sense too.

You should be ok at 20" then.

Ok thanks not a lot of people running them it does seem like anything closer than 18 is to hot you said you run yours at 24 do you have doubles and what is the highest you have ran them and still noticed growth

Mine is currently at 30" because I have two little ones just coming into veg, maybe a week old, and I don't want to stress them.

I am currently using the Vivosun fixture, which based on my research, should be used at 24" from canopy. 20" is too close in some cases, but other environmentals come into play I'm sure.

I started my seedlings with the light at 36". These CMH bulbs are strong!

Yep seems like I keep moving them up here is a good question for you 3 days into 12/12 came downstairs check wood stove and saw light bumped rspec timer supposed to go off between 8 and 8 just shut them off sucks should I let them get 2 hrs dark and back on schedule or should I run a whole 12 off also If I did run a 12 off how should I feed through it usually hit them once 6 hrs in dark and every hour and half when lights on which is supposed to start at 8 est

I think what you are saying is that the lights came on early? It is very early in flower, I would stick to your schedule and try not have happen again. Keeping schedule you had before is best I think.

Seems like no worse for wear they are happy I am finding some holes that means a bug right nothing is flying around and I can't find anything under microscope here's some pics of the holes what do you guys think it is
